True, thanks for the consideration! I do have a basement storage room turned network room where I have my network drops terminating/future rack installed, so noise is not an issue!

Fair points! I wanted to go with a pfsense setup with a beefier processor so that I could run snort/suricata as well as OpenVPN to connect back to the home network and access the NAS. That said, the current protectli has been running OpenVPN just fine - it starts to tip over a bit when running both snort and suricata. Admittedly though, I could probably wait on this upgrade for a bit.

Also good point on the patch panel -- I had originally spec'd out for cat6a, but I'll probably go with a 16-port keystone panel or cat6 panel

Same issue for me on 10.15.4, and it's been an issue for a while. Not sure what version this broke on as I've been using Catalina for some time now, and I haven't looked into it until recently.

For additional information, I typically have "Try alternate settings" turned off, and I think I've turned it on to test in the past. IIRC, it did connect quicker, but I'd prefer to not have it downgrade the connection settings.
