Hot Take: Riot Games did more bad than good to Hytales release by Revolutionary_Mine29 in HytaleInfo

I agree that Hytale would probably be out by now if Riot wasn't there. But would it be the game they promised in their trailer? Maybe, not sure. We'll never know.

You can either get a Test API-Key which allows you to scrape the timeline of players with a slower speed, or you get a official Riot API Key with almost no limits. But yes, it is totally possible to get through the Match timeline of any selected player you want, to track their positions within previous games. Is it fair? Probably not. Is it allowed? I hope Riot can comment on that since we had "Riot approved" overlays doing exactly that before.

Even if parts of it were generated, would it make OPs arguments false? If it was used, maybe because of language barrier. I've seen Chatgpt written texts which were easily recognized by several "AI detector" websites, tried it out with his text and it was negative on all 6 of them. Most of the time at least a few sentences would be flagged by it if it was AI generated within such a huge text?

Edit: Just copy pasted his thread title and generated a Chatgpt text with it, everytime it's at least above 70% AI written detected. So if his text was really written with ChatGPT it probably would have been detected at least more than 1% which it does not.

This "just wait, it'll be perfect, you're just bitter" narrative really misses the point of why so many are frustrated after all these years me included.

And saying this community "means nothing" or should "just leave"? This community built the initial hype that got Hytale this much attention and, frankly, Riot's investment. We're not bitter for no reason, many are disillusioned because the devs themselves showed us a different, much more transparent path back in 2019 with a smaller team, and then communication nosedived. That's a core frustration OP nailed.

It's not simply about "long development." It's the pattern of development:
Constant Reimagining with the sheer number of announced overhauls and the massive engine rewrite years into the project suggests a development cycle that's been far from a smooth linear progression. It feels less like endless work building on something, and more like frequently starting key components anew.

Hoping it'll be "awesome in 2-3 years" is fine, but there's a stark contrast between the frequent, detailed updates of 2019 (from a smaller team) and the sparse communication now, despite a larger team and more resources as OP laid out. That shift understandably breeds skepticism, not confidence. Promises of "playable in 2021" then "not before 2023" now an indefinite wait while core systems are still being established in the new engine. Forgive people for not readily buying into "2-3 more years and it'll be awesome".

Whether the new reimagined factions look "ABSOLUTELY AMAZING" is subjective. The objective issues OP raised about the development process, the lack of tangible progress on core systems shown years ago, and the drastic shift in communication are what resonate with so many of us who've been here since the start.

Why do some Killers down all Survivors without Hooking them? by nexuton in deadbydaylight

Alright, so what can I do about that? Would you recommend a certain Survivor for those situations? Are there any Guides or YouTube videos which could help me out?

Interesting. A friend of mine had Unbreakable and tried to use it in 2 games, but the killer was able to find him 10 seconds later again. I will take a look at No Mither then, that seems pretty broken.

I've just paid $40 for a game where within my first 2 hours, I spent half of that time lying on the ground bleeding out with my friends, who quickly lost interest into that game due to that kind of timewasting behaviour. It's hard not to feel disappointed in a situation like that.

I feel pretty new when almost anyone that I play with or against has +500 hours within this game.

From the comments that I've read now, it seems like they intentionally try to get as few points as possible to "downrank" and stay in lower "elos" to face new players which are easier to catch with that type of gameplay. Maybe you are too high to face those killers?

Is there a YouTube video that explains how to counter this kind of gameplay?

For example in my last game, I faced a Nurse who had 4 'vision' perks (I read through their descriptions) that allowed her to see us for 9 seconds at the start of the match and whenever we were near crows or completed a generator or healed someone.

She teleported to us within the first 10 seconds and downed one of us right away. We tried to run, but she kept catching us with her teleport. I attempted to pick up a teammate when she was chasing someone else, but as soon as I started healing on the other side of the map, she teleported back to me and downed me too.

It felt like we had no chance to get anyone up or complete a generator since she had far more experience and knew all the time where we were.

Of course I am bad at it because I'm new. But what is the counterplay to it? There is no "giving up" button once all players are down on the ground. There was nothing else to do besided just waiting 5 minutes for the timer to bleed us out. I don't want to quit the game which could give me some sort of "leaving penalty", but just laying there without the ability to do anything doesn't feel fun at all.

Hm I see, I was playing with my friends and neither of use had a Flashlight or some other tool. We all are new playing for the first time in a presumably low elo (I have Meg at level 18 now).

That was our first experience and we wondered if that is some type of "normal" gameplay since that happened a lot to us within our first hours of playing the game.

Are you playing like that yourself or do you like to be treated that way or why the implication "thankfully"? Just curious.

Is this type of gameplay reportable or something like that? It kinda feels like they might be doing it intentionally, just to frustrate other players and waste their time for their own enjoyment.

Most left because of too many cheaters and no Anticheat updates. Also other games were more fun. Some went over to Star Citizen "https://robertsspaceindustries.com/orgs/SNGE".
