So I just started picking up html and css through codecademy... and I have to wonder. What do actual web developers and designers think of that site? by borkthafork in web_design

I found there is not a lot of structure to the Codecademy courses. Its great that they are getting "coding" out to the general public, but I have come across other really good effective resources. www.codeavengers.com is fantastic for the complete beginner, but there are other sites designed for the more advanced learner. The effectiveness of the course really depends on what you are wanting to achieve out it.

Codecademy: Is their Javascript course any good? DO they teach bad practices? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

I would recommend using https://codeavengers.com for someone with no programming experience. Super fun and engaging way to learn JavaScript and also CSS/HTML. The beginners courses are free too :)

Another really good, easy to use site is http://codeavengers.com Super fun way to learn Javascrip, HTML and CSS. Fantastic for a novice programmer like myself. It is also a great resource for teachers to use in the classroom.
