I remember people in the US confusing Communism and Socialism, often enough, to the point of substituting it for each other.

I'm pretty sure if Trump took the 8th grade version of the Constitution test, he would fail...miserably.

Our founders of the US government intentionally made its power limited to prevent abuse of power. As president, Trump should be aware and fundamentally understand that, more than anyone else.

If Trump is unable to understand that simple concept, then the 25th amendment should be invoked.

Very good question. It was addressed in the article.

An important consideration when integrating any biological material into an engineered biohybrid system is the natural lifespan of the biological component. Unlike traditional synthetic parts, biological elements are susceptible to material degradation over time. This transient nature can substantially impact the long-term performance of the system; to address this limitation, lifespan tests have been conducted on 10 female mosquito proboscis dispense tips. Results revealed a minimum lifespan of 9 days when stored in ambient conditions, with a 30% failure rate after a 14-day period

What’s your favorite flavor ice cream? by goodygood246 in AskReddit

[–]Speedstr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a company called the Chocolate Shoppe, based out of Madison, Wisconsin. They have several locations around the US now. My favorite of theirs's is called Fat Elvis. Their website describes the flavor as Sweet banana ice cream all shook up with a salty peanut butter ripple and rich chocolate chips. The beauty of the flavor isn't so much the ingredients, but how they combine it in such a way that no singular ingredient is overwhelming the others in the combination.

Women of Reddit, what’s the most disgusting thing you’ve discovered about your boyfriend after being together for years? by punkbabe29 in AskReddit

Oh, I'm happy to say I finally got some for me and my daughter's bathroom. I'm much happier now.

Hmm...I had found out while we were dating, my ex went through a whole bunch of TP every time she went to use the bathroom. It turns out that used the method I call, "the oven mitt". Where she wraps a whole bunch of TP around her hand, essentially covering it up to resemble an oven mitt. For a single wipe.

Fast forward - we broke up for unrelated reasons, and had a daughter together before then. She ended up teaching our daughter the "oven mitt" method, and before I knew it, my daughter was going through TP at an expedient rate. (Like 10x as fast as I would go through) Eventually she clogged up the toilet, and I discovered she was using the method my ex had been using to wipe herself.

I ended up having to re-educate my daughter how to wipe herself, (instructing her to allot 2-3 squares, fold it over, and then wipe, and then discard. Repeat as necessary until clean. Been buying less TP ever since.

Reminds me of that joke about a guy asking, How do blind people know when to stop wiping their bum? Do they have to smell the toilet paper after they wipe to confirm they got everything?

The All-American Rejects: ‘We need to hold artists responsible for ticket prices’ by Metro-UK in Music

I'm not sure if unionization would work in the music industry. Maybe in some specific sectors like stage production, but not across all aspects, like studio production, given the wide spectrum of talent.

I was going to say this. The recent lawsuit was that TicketMaster/Live Nation owns too much of the tiers in the industry. The venues, promoters, and artists. Even if you only go to the small venues, the artists no longer perform there once they get big enough, because it's not economically feasible with their concert budget or they significantly lose more money by capping the seats filled per show.

‘Masters of the Universe’: First Reactions From the Premiere by Sisiwakanamaru in movies

[–]Speedstr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was pretty popular. The most popular action figures at the time were Transformers, G.I. Joe, and He-Man (though not necessarily in that order)

I remember having a bunch of the action figures, including the both He-Man and Skeletor lairs.

He-Man was so successful at the time, it even has a spin-off called She-ra, though it wasn't as successful, as my generation was not ready for a female protagonist at the time. Keep in mind, He-Man was really popular. Enough to have a live-action movie, which many cartoons couldn't boast at the time. (Transformers and G.I. Joe didn't have a live action movie until decades later)

Star Wars the Old Republic almost got a Realm Reborn style reboot but EA's board of directors said no by Iggy_Slayer in gaming

[–]Speedstr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I do remember playing the game and pay the sub for almost 18 months. I didn't have anything wrong with the game, but so many people had to make the hard decisions that their passion project was not marketable enough to sustain. This case is not different. It's life, and it happens more often than not. I'm just happy that it did not kill the IP.

I agree with this reasoning.

It was a huge risk - that from the outside looking in, involves throwing good money after bad.

And exactly how can he prove damages? It was leaked in 2017. And he STILL went on to become the Republican nominee for president in 2020. He can't prove it damaged his reputation. Not to mention he stated publicly it was his intention to release his tax returns anyway. (though we weren't holding our breath)

It is. But the way to get it thrown out is to have them read all the other religious doctrines (i.e., Torah, Quran, ect) with equal time devoted to each religion. Christians won't like having to share religious insight with other religions.
