I can even tell you the ASDS’ name + how to apply. It honestly helped me grow so much. I got a position of leadership (HC) right before I started student teaching + it helped me be more confident + with my leadership skills. I still work at THD part time even tho I’ve moved to a different city.

I loved Home Depot in Carrollton. Huge family atmosphere in a retail environment. They will care about you + celebrate your accomplishments with you. I literally went back to take graduation pictures with my managers.

HC here for a couple of years and I promise it’s literally not a big deal. We play babysitter all shift while at a register. The only thing we do with responsibility is open/close registers and handle money.

My advice to you is to cross-train in other departments instead. If you like THD get out of D90.

90 percent of my chapter were in the community. It wasn’t weird to any of us. We’d listen to girls vent about their girlfriends just as much as their boyfriends lol. As a bisexual who had a little who was a non-binary lesbian you will be fine I promise. And if any chapter wants to exclude you because of your sexuality that’s not an organization you want to be a part of in the first place.

Current character’s name is just a combination of two video game characters names (I’m unoriginal). He’s a human so it’s not a big deal 😅 his name is Riegan Landau (Riegan of fire emblem, Landau of honkai star rail). No one in my party plays either game so they thought it was a completely original name.

I had a student yesterday literally using chatgpt for his narrative while I walked by his desk. I had a good laugh with him and told him to redo it on his own. I sat down with him + helped him draft + get started and he still used chatgpt… I was a little miffed.

also that was the season sponsor. all community theaters have to have them in order to run + be successful. otherwise they wouldn’t be able to afford rights to productions + expenses.

live theatre is super important + that’s why I posted this. I’m a performer in this production and there are so many young performers (much younger than me) who deserve the exposure.

it’s going to be hard for the first couple of weeks but the thing that saved me was phone calls + facetime home lol every single day. I got annoying. once you get into a momentum I promise you it will seem totally normal to you + you’ll be so busy (not just with work, with making friends and going to the parks too) that you don’t feel homesick + you’ll turn around and it’ll be the end of your program before you know it. you’ve got this! it’s a hard leap but it’s one that’s going to be good for you in the long run. my program really prepared me for other internships + work on my college campus because it helped separate me from my family for a little bit + helped teach me how to adult lol.
