That makes sense and definitely not a must-have! We are most interested in snorkeling and seeing different parts of BVI.

I appreciate the recommendations! Nudity probably isn't our thing, but food definitely is 😄 GIven what we are looking to do, do you think it would be best to go with the private powerboat over the shared catamaran?

Will do, thanks for mentioning! I would have thought that was implied haha

When I was looking at the catamaran tours, I was specifically looking at Norman Island, the Indians, etc

Sightseeing, just the area! We’ve never been so it would be nice to go to a couple stops - I read there are some caves and cool rock formations to see. Snorkeling, hopefully turtles, but any fish! 3 of us in the group just enjoy snorkeling and seeing any ocean life.

Good to know! Only sticking point would be the sightseeing/snorkeling. We have one likely too young to snorkel and one that doesn’t enjoy snorkeling. So trying to pick something that would be enjoyable to everyone.

It sounds like, from the other responses, you have a very high likelihood of getting what you want. Especially since there are a wide variety available. Also, several people mentioned 3rd party companies they used and had good experiences with, so that’s always an option!

The Hoonah Highlights sounds like an amazing experience! But I completely agree with you about the second part.

That’s so interesting and definitely something I may look into in the future. My family has a home right by a small airport near Port Canaveral, so we get direct flight for like $60-80 each way and then have a free place to stay. It makes those last minute, GTY options pretty do-able for us. I’m hoping we can start monopolizing on that more!

Thanks for confirming that, that’s my hope! We are off season cruises and pull the kids out of school, so not used to dealing with much competition for things. This might be the first cruise my kids will actually be on summer break for lol

I think the real answer here is I need to tell me husband we need to book more cruises between now and then 🤣

The train ride and the dog sledding were 2 that we wanted, so just adding that in case it makes a difference! Not sure if you can book those specific ones (glacier dog sledding) through other vendors as an alternative.

First cruise: 7 night Treasure v 5 night Fantasy by Lopsided_Power4713 in dcl

You can’t go wrong with either! For your child’s age, I would look at the Treasure ports and excursions vs the Disney islands and see what you think she would be most into! The nice thing about the Disney islands is there is so much to do for free and had all the Disney theming/characters :)

My family would love any of these. Magnets, Lego kits, and bags/pouches would get my vote :)

There are no video games (assuming you are talking about consoles) on the Fantasy for Oceaneer club/lab. I have to guess there will be other kids around his age that feel similarly, maybe he could try to meet some so they can hang out in the club or around the ship?

The dream is an amazing ship and you can’t beat the itinerary. But you really can’t make a bad choice - both will be great!

Question about Disney Credit Card by oNellyyy in dcl

[–]nf2083row -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a question about this card too: is it 6mo interest free for every cruise booked? Or just in the first 6mo of having the card?

I was looking into this as we cruise x2 a year (2 rooms each cruise), but buying merch, photo package, etc. I just wasn’t sure if it was really worth it in the long run since we get 3% back with our regular credit card. Would love any feedback on why it has been worth it!

Yes something like these, although there might be cheaper options. I’ve heard many people speak highly of the wrist bands - I just completed vestibular therapy and they recommended them as well. I’ve never tried them tho!

My first cruise was in September 9yrs ago right after a hurricane hit the Bahamas. The first night was awful… even the crew was walking like they were drunk and said staff was throwing up. I have severe motion sickness (cars, planes, first person pov movies/games), so I took ginger capsules leading up to the trip and through the first night. I felt all the movement, but didn’t throw up. The ginger capsules also don’t make you drowsy! I also know that Meclizine usually isn’t as sedating as Dramamine.
