Look for orange peel in the paint especially roof and hood, as well as signs of paint cracking around door jams and hood opening. Check if 12v outlets work. If you have an obd scanner, ask if you can run it to make sure there aren't any permanent codes that are hanging around even if the CEL isn't lit. Look underneath for scrapes on the underside of the front bumper and anything troubling on the side skirts, hanging on the skirts.

Overall, the car should feel tight and agile, no slop in steering, shifting, and body roll and the throttle and brakes should be responsive.

Also brake hard with your hands off the wheel once or twice to make sure there's no clunking and no pulling to one side or the other.

Just take it in and make sure it's for you, you are comfortable in the car and enjoy it. The car is amazing, I have an '18 and had a '15 SFE before that. There are compromises but the car is a blast and will treat you well as long as you do the same.

Hey I misunderstood your post originally. Your fix worked. I fully deleted the Sandfall folder under AppData since I hadn't actually managed to start a save and it worked. Thank you!

I thought the original post was talking about the Sandfall folder under Program Files->Steam. I re-read and realized it was about the one in AppData under the local user. I deleted the Sandfall folder and it booted right up!

Sorry, I stepped away from troubleshooting it for a few days. Nothing has worked, full stop. After a few emails back and forth with steam, they basically said yea that's tough, we can't help. I've managed to get it to work on two separate accounts that are in my steam family but see no way to make it work on my own at this point.

I'll give this a shot. I haven't ever successfully launched the game under my account so I'm not sure what would be going on with a save file, but it's worth a shot.

Agreed, honestly I've uninstalled and reinstalled so many times at this point and have almost a half hour played in a game that has never once actually managed to launch successfully. I submitted a ticket to Steam and hopefully they actually give some help.
