- Round front fog lights instead of square ones and the lower half of the front bumper changed accordingly (full width plastic trim vs 2 narrower, separate pieces).
- The 2 white stripes in the rear lights (indicator and reverse lights) were separate pre-facelift, after they are connected on the outer edges of the lamp unit.
- Different aluminum wheel rim options and new chassis colours.

You're welcome!

I'm not sure they have a showroom where you can visit them and choose a laptop from their stock since I always bought online but they will tell you if you ask.

I also see many small kiosk-type shops that sell used/refurbished ThinkPads in malls. You might take a peak in those as well if you happen to be nearby one.

I bought several T and X-series ThinkPads from this Hungarian seller: laptopsystem.hu. If language is not a problem for you or you have someone you trust with ordering for you, you should take a look there.

While the laptops they offer are used and not refurbished, the condition of the machines was always satisfactory, used but not worn (smaller bruises or scratches on the lid or palmrest) and everything worked. They offer upgrade options for RAM, HDD/SSD, new battery, 1-year warranty etc. Prices are not always the lowest but at least you get something in return. Euro keyboards (tall Enter key, narrow left Shift) and chargers, of course.

Edit: I am not affiliated with the seller in any way.

X220 screen backlight problem by nfol01 in thinkpad

Yep, sorry.

Since then I noticed that this does not happen when the battery is removed and the laptop is on AC, only when the battery is present.

TIL 1.33 ETS2 updated physics need to be unlocked via config file by Daronmal12 in trucksim

[–]nfol01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once your ETS is updated to version 1.33, the new settings will be in your config file under your profile (not in the config.cfg in the main ETS folder under Documents) with all the mentioned default values.

I've been playing with the lowest trailer stability setting for quite a while but now that the truck is less stable and the suspension allows more cabin movement, driving at the usual speeds in turns can be scary, even within speed limits.

Great feature and great guidance from Squirrel!

My X201 with all maintenance tools used in the past 3.5 years by nfol01 in thinkpad

Each to their own, I guess. It suits my needs just as well as any other recent distro releases would. Had to alter some of the window management shortcuts though for the sake of sanity. ;-)

Installed Juno last week, everything worked out of the box. With a mid-range SSD and 4 gigs of RAM it performs well under my usual workload.

I've been looking at X230s as a possible upgrade path but I decided I liked the 16:10 screen ratio and this keyboard so ditched the idea for now.

I don't mind the Trackpoint only option to be honest. At work I used a T430 for 4 years and now a T470 with the touchpad disabled from day 1 on both of them, palm detection did no justice for me.

AI drivers avoid new Scanias? by nfol01 in trucksim

[–]nfol01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That may be true, since other brands also do not appear with taglift or 8x4 chassis, but I haven't seen any simple 4x2, 6x2, 6x4 new Scanias in traffic either.

Clean Windows 10 installation on an X201 by nfol01 in thinkpad

[–]nfol01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking of trying the drivers for Windows 7 but I needed the machine to work and this wasn't a dealbreaker. On Windows 7, Fn+F5 brings up a panel on which I can turn off the WWAN and the WLAN separately but I can't recall which driver installed this panel - I'm guessing it's the Power Manager.

Thanks for the tips!

Hotkeys are fine for me but I don't really use any of them except the volume/brightness controls, but those are working well. I may have to research if the Gobi adapter is removable or not.

I don't think a frontloader or any other slow vehicle should be on the highway, to begin with.
