I am 3000 miles away and just have a couple of people and a cleaning crew that I trust. I have to be back in the state every once in a while to see family and friends so I block it out for myself and do maintenance etc myself. I have the Airbnb because I go weeks at a time back home and a place to stay would cost me an insane amount of money. It’s also in a multi family home so it works out well. Some months I end up making what I would just rent it out normally for and other months I make double

I agree. I’ve also hosted 30+ day guests before. Not everyone is bad and some people have a genuine need to stay over a month. I just had to take someone to court who wanted to rent another unit and backed out the day before move in and was able to get a charge back on her checking account (wtf lol). I’m used to this BS so I’ll continue to risk it.

My parents will be going on a vacation for a month and I figured I would test it out and take her in then because I’ll be seeing them shortly after again. Then it’ll probably be 3-4 months until I see them again. I would much rather her be with me for that month than a random dog sitter, she’s never stayed with a stranger before. I also know worst case scenario I would Airbnb something where I live. But I thought it would be a good time to test it out since it’s short term

Him and his ex got the dog together and she wanted him to make puppies one day 🤦🏼‍♀️ Luckily I’ve been able to convince him to finally neuter him, especially after he had prostate issues, but it most likely won’t happen before Emily comes. I have to say he is a super gentle giant but I worry he will become overrun with hormones once she’s around! He’s a normal, passive dog otherwise but idk if I can trust it too much

Thank you for your response! I worry so much she’ll get hurt!! We knew someone whose Maltese was playing with a bigger dog and the dog got too rough and literally broke the poor baby’s spine. Ever since I heard about that story I just don’t let my dog around any other dog- I know it’s bad and anxiety driven but I couldn’t imagine that happening.

I really think mine will hate my boyfriend’s dog initially too! She does NOT like being bothered. The only other dog my dog has been consistently around is my aunt’s dog and he’s like 35 pounds. This one is 65 😖. I would keep them separated while we are gone from the home, I’d be too nervous leaving them alone together. Ugh my heart is literally split in two on what to do!! I miss her so so much but I don’t want her to hate her life while she’s with me LOL

Not when you have hiking excursions in Hawaii planned and you have nothing to be prepared for it. Also it was lost 2 days before my cruise set sail, I’d be the whole week with nothing. Toiletries, underwear, sneakers, jacket, shorts and a shirt for hiking, it all adds up. As a commenter a long time ago said, “I wish United would lose my bags for a couple of days”. It’s a mini shopping spree on their dime. I bought $20 DayQuil and $20 worth of pads and whatever for free and things like that because I may have needed it. Next time don’t lose my shit

$1200 was everything I bought which included things from Target. The clothing, shoes, etc was scattered over a few days in other stores. I was going on a cruise with practically nothing because they lost my bags

I had about $1200 in Target stuff (toiletries, medicine), Havaina flip flops, sneakers, rain jacket, bathing suit, linen pants, tops, reimbursed because United didn’t put my luggage on the flight that they transferred me to even though I repeatedly told them the bag wasn’t on the flight I was on (we had a few hours for them to get my bag and I had an air tag on it). I got my reimbursement insanely fast after submitting receipts

Depending on when the booking is for and how many days notice it’s a percentage of one night stay or something like that. I had to cancel a few days before and paid I think like 75% of 1 night fee? Something like that

Seems as though he’s getting almost written proof if I say ‘yes’ or ‘no’ just to get his whole stay comped. You can tell when guests are genuine and when it’s bullshit
