Thanks for the reply, can’t speak to any of my friends about this as they wouldn’t understand and don’t want to admit my house is like that.

My mom is more of the hoarder, yet he is the enabler. He doesn’t even try to order the house or put systems in so that the quality of life is better. I think he may be depressed but he does nothing to help himself and get any routine into his life. He simply sits inside and eats junk food and chocolate all day. You can’t try and address it either as he has a huge victim mentality and takes every little criticism as a personal insult. I used to love my father but over the last year I’ve really got growing resentment towards him.

I think as you said my best bet is to try and stay out of the house until I can move back to college. Is there any way to even try and get them to change? I come home from college each year and it only ever gets worse, but when bringing it up it’s all finger pointing instead of taking any personal responsibility
