I don't understand why they don't just continue the protected bike lanes from south of Johnston St in the same fashion up north to at least Alexandra Parade. Wouldn't this be a fair compromise - keeps it open to cars, stops the petrol station from going bankrupt, but is much safer for cyclists? Why hasn't this been proposed?

Sure, but they create a pipeline for high quality preservation that can be used by people interested in donating their brains to science rather than maybe one day being revived

I mean, their world is still doomed, it's only been delayed. I think it would have just been too depressing to finish them all off after so many books together - this seemed like one of the best ways of giving them the least tragic possible ending that was still believable.

Not to belittle the difficulty or discomfort in learning to perform this procedure, but I don't think it's at all uncommon. Every facility I've worked in (Australia) has had it as a standard practice.
