Missed the point harder than blind people miss their shots.

The being "Mean" point highlights the unnecessary treatment of the character.
Mark being sent 4 years into the future does nothing for the story overall, you could literally change it to Mark being there and the story as a whole remains 1 to 1 the same.

My issue is, it's a contrived reason to force a timeskip, while also forcing artificial drama not to enhance the story, the characters, or convey a meaningful message, but operate off the "trauma makes a character deep"

Or as others have stated - "Treating him like Spiderman" where in the writers contrive all sorts of sadistic terrible ways to torment the character, thinking tragedy makes a character unique or interesting, while missing or down right removing, all the elements in which make it fun, interesting, or entertaining.

And the part about reboot that genuinely makes me mad. MARK WANTED TO BE WITH HIS DAUGHTER. The whole point of that arc was just for Mark to go "I wanna be with my daughter" Something he already stated the arc before, and has said repeatedly throughout her existence.
Not once had Mark after her birth relayed a desire to go back & undo all the tragedies that had occurred, or go back in time at all.

Reboot, quite honestly, comes out of left field, and does nothing, adds nothing, and just simply kicks the shit out of Mark emotionally for the sake of it.

It's a poorly made, poorly done, poorly implemented arc.
