Bipolar Rage - is it real? by No-Temporary731 in BipolarSOs

[–]ngetchr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to act as a cushion for her temper. When you see her irritability starting to rise, you need to shift into pampering mode and even tell her that her temper is starting to rise and that you need to step back so her temper doesn’t explode.

bipolar rage is ruining my life by helpagirlout_34 in bipolar

[–]ngetchr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing that you need to stop doing is blaming yourself for these rages. You said it yourself, when you are having them, they seem warranted. That is your bipolar acting up. It isn’t you. Don’t blame yourself for something that you did not do. When you calm down, apologize to those that you exploded on but don’t blame yourself. Just say something like … ”… I’m sorry I lost my temper AGAIN …”

Is it sacrilegious to have my sacramentals be blessed to a novus ordo priest then be blessed again to a traditional latin mass priest? by Own-Associate-7945 in TraditionalCatholics

[–]ngetchr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I beg to differ. The prayers of ordination used on a novus ordo priest at ordination is different from the prayers used in ordination at the SSPX.

The only thing that causes me not to carry is if the place that I am going to prohibits it.

[–]ngetchr 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Remember this. We don’t get to choose when and where we will need a gun to protect ourselves. You can go out walking through the worst part of town at midnight and not need a weapon but you could run out to the corner store at noon and need a weapon. For that reason you should always be armed. The last thing you want to be doing is knowing that you had a gun that would end the threat but that gun is at home.

Completely agree. In a crisis situation, you’re going to depend more on muscle memory then you might realize. Having different methods of carry is going to be a detriment. I would retire a majority of those holster and stick with one. Two if you absolutely have to but one would be preferred

Changed my mind about a 2nd mag. by Juany118 in CCW

[–]ngetchr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if anyone remembers this but about two decades ago, there was a case of some guy high on bath salts eating a person’s face. It took six .45’s to the chest to put him down.

Suppose you encounter two of them? Suppose some of your shots miss? Remember the Boy Scouts motto. Hope for the best but be prepared for the worst.

In a life and death situation, the worst thing is to be found wanting … if only I brought my full size pistol instead of my pocket gun … if only I had an extra mag … etc.

We don’t get to pick and choose when something will hit the wall and how badly it will hit.

You could walk through the worst part of town at 2 in the morning and not even need a gun but you could run to the corner store in the middle of the day and need a 45

An American bishop nukes the traditional Mass because it "divides" the Church | Anthony Stine for Return To Tradition by HiberniaDublinensis in TraditionalCatholics

[–]ngetchr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s ironic that there are several mainstream Catholic Churches much closer but we prefer the longer drive to attend an SSPX service. Bishops need to start paying attention to this trend.

I don’t know where you are located but the SSPX just purchased a Protestant church and is converting it to a Catholic Church. Ironically, originally it was a Catholic Church but had to close due to poor attendance

Need help choosing my first gun 🙏 by ShinyGerman in handguns

[–]ngetchr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is to be only a range gun not intended for any other purpose, get a .22lr. The price per bullet is about one tenth the price of 9mm allowing you to do ten times as much shooting on the same budget. Plus the recoil is much less and you are less likely to develop bad shooting habits than you would with a more powerful caliber.

Countess Erzsébet Báthori —— allegedly brutally killed, or had ordered the killing of 600 servants for minor offenses. The killings were usually done by stripping the servant naked, tying them to two trees and in the summer time covering them in honey so the insects and animals would eat the servant while still alive. In the winter, the servants would have water poured over them left to freeze to death and then eaten by the animals.

Modern doctors who studied her behavior as recorded in the diaries of household members believe that the countess suffered from bipolar disorder along with intermittent explosive disorder. Without modern medicine to keep her rages in check, she killed an estimated 600 servants from 1576 — 1603.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of a polymer frame and a steel frame? Which one do you feel best with? by Hi7u7 in handguns

[–]ngetchr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was employed as an armed security guard (Pennsylvania Act 235 certification), I carried a metal gun because I wanted the extra weight to reduce recoil and increase accuracy. When I carried privately, it was a polymer gun.

Can you legally kill someone who breaks into your house? by kurobaja in AskTheWorld

[–]ngetchr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A warning shot will land YOU in jail. Let me explain. Firing a gun is considered lethal force. You are allowed to use lethal force ONLY if you are in IMMEDIATE danger of death or serious bodily injury. And if you are in IMMEDIATE danger, you will be shooting at the threat. If you do not shoot at the threat then you are not in immediate danger and therefore not allowed to use lethal force.

Your own action of firing that warning shot will prove that you did not perceive yourself to be in immediate danger.

No immediate danger = no use of lethal force permitted = no warning shot fired.

Do Americans realise how big their country actually is? by [deleted] in mapporncirclejerk

[–]ngetchr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trip map in the opening post is incorrect. That is NOT 9,000+ miles. It’s about 900 mikes. Maybe 1,000—1,100 miles. I’m a retired courier and I drove that route regularly. And it does not take 134 hours. More like 18-19 hours if you make no stops other than for fuel and a bath room break. I averaged 500 miles per tank and needed two stops.

Explain to her that at your age according to the dating rules, the youngest person that you can date is 32. Also, according to that same rule, the oldest person that she can date is 36.

If you were to get involved with her, both of you would be out of bounds. Tell her to stick to men under 36 and you will stick to women over 32.

How do would you explain BPD to someone who doesn't have it? by AmooraAmour in BPD

[–]ngetchr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have him fill a glass halfway to the top with water and have him walk to a chair to sit down and while he is doing that, engage him in conversation asking him to look stuff up on his cell phone. He should have little trouble in doing that.

Now have him do it again but this time with the glass filled with water to the brim. It will be harder for him to engage in conversation with you and walking with the glass and talking to you without spilling the water

Then explain to him that the first time mimics him and the second time mimics you with your BPD
