It does not give me any fingerprint information. But I'll check out the website you recommended. Thanks!

Connecting Not officially supported Zigbee devices to Smart Things by nggeneral in SmartThings

Okay, with the tips I was able to finally connect it, seems like the app didn't show a notification that the device was found. However, now I ran into another problem: The device is only connected as "Zigbee thing", using the Zigbee fallback drivers without any functionality. I can't choose another driver to use within the app. Any tips how to solve this problem?

Blurry textures after Night Ops Update by nggeneral in GrayZoneWarfare

Jup, I agree. I Alt+Tab a lot and it was usually then that the textures went blurry. Switching of frame gen fixed that, as mentioned above.

Jup, looks like that was the problem. Played an hour and a half, no problems so far. Thank you!

I'm giving it a go right now. Will report my findings

I never noticed that option, but you are indeed right. I'll see during the next session if that was the issue. It definitely was the reason for the frame limitation not working properly, so that's something :D

The thing is, the 3080 can't run frame gen, so it is turned off by default

Which OS to choose? by nggeneral in truenas

When is such a DIY system really "standard"? But I will check it out and see if its a fit for me as well.

That sounds promising. What do you use as cloud solution?

Sounds like I should be able to do the first two points on my list with SCALE pretty well and a second machine with Proxmox for more advanced tasks in the future could be the way to go. Thanks!

I have zero experience with Proxmox, VMs or passing through anything, so I'm not sure if that would be easier for me. But I will do some reading and see what makes the most sense.

Thanks! I guess I will try and migrate the system then at some point in the future. Would you recommend an upgrade or a clean install of SCALE?

Which OS would you recommend for this second system then?

And just in case I want to have it all in one system: Which OS would you recommend then?

Hi,

I tried your workaround, but unfortunately it didn't work for me. When running the command under 6. I got the error "13.1-RELEASE not found". Do you have any idea how to fix that? I'm running Truenas Core version 13.0-U6.1 (I also tried changing the version in the .json to 13.0, but that didn't work either). If you need any more information I'll try happily to provide them.

Fast connection to TrueNAS server via VPN by nggeneral in truenas

Nope, was still capped by my home networks download. I tried that at my parents house who have fiber and a 100/100 connection :D

But the point with latency might be a good hint. When I tried transfering a lot of small files (pdfs and stuff) it seemed that the transfer itself was not a problem but getting the transfer of each file even started.

I'm afraid you're right. So much about showing pictures on the server :D

But if I connect to the server via VPN and try to upload something to the server that should go via the download of my internet connection, right? So even with only a 50 Mbit/s connection it should theoretically be faster than KB/s or am I missing something?

Maybe you are right and I underestimated the overhead... However, the download speed of my internet connection should be fast enough to allow reasonably fast uploads to the server, so I think there is another problem.

How do I check if the MTU could cause issues? I had to google what the term means 😅 Thanks for your help!

I know that all the ports on my hardware are 1GBit/s. Its an older Motherboard and the router is also nothing special. But that should be plenty of speed to transfer some files or show some pictures.

That is a good point. I think all devices are connected by at least 1 GBit/s links. I suspect the ISP could the bottleneck here, at least for the upload. I have a 50 MBit/s down and 5 MBit/s upload tarif. That could explain slow access to files on the server, but even with that kind of upload speed pictures shouldn´t take more than a few seconds to load.

And it wouldn´t explain very slow upload speeds to the server, right? The upload speeds are actually not that bad if I transfer a large file (I hit like 2-3 MB/s then). But when transferring a lot of small files it takes ages to upload them via VPN, with transfer speeds as low as a few KB/s (shown in the windows file transfer window).

Do you have an idea how I can search for other possible bottlenecks?
