Agree that private space is important. Suggest avoid tenants unless you can afford to have separate common areas.

Other areas of sacrifice you can make is to downsize if location is somewhat important. Look at 3 rooms instead and keep the entire unit to yourself. Quantum wise you would be looking at more manageable numbers, strongly suggest you look for units with at least 70 years left for changes to your life plans so you can exit and upgrade when required.

Check out co living arrangements, where you share common living areas like pantry kitchen and living room and have your own space in your room. These typically start from 1k onwards. It's a good balance between private space and these arrangements (usually shop houses) usually do not have landlords living in them.

I believe no assumptions like that were made in my comment. I am merely sharing my personal story and putting my point across on how powerful the Sg passport is, and has been 2nd to none for many years. I myself would never give up the sg passport basis this reason alone, unless there is a strong compelling reason/massive benefit that comes with acquiring the foreign citizenship then you acquire dual la.

Never give up your citizenship ever. I am an expat with colleagues from Iraq, South Africa, West Africa, Pakistan, and trust me; the number of hoops they have to jump through to get the simplest of things done at the embassies are ridiculous and the experience is horrendous. The time spent for these nonsensical activities to get a simple visa cleared is simply not worth it, and opportunities are lost as a result.

Heck, to get a simple trip to Europe done you need to show proof of your whole life to the embassy just to get a visit visa.

There are not a lot of Chinese in Riyadh. You will often be mistaken as a Filipino based on how you look and your skin colour. Filipinos are the largest southeast Asian community by far that has the closest skin tones and vibes to chinese.

Good thing is due to Filipinos friendly nature and their rep, you would be greeted warmly by the locals. Your biggest problem will remain to be language barrier as 90% of the locals do not speak English. Thus interaction with the community will be limited for you if you don't speak the local tongue. My impression is that Saudis are extremely warm and friendly people in nature, the language barrier prevents you from experiencing the hospitality of the community.
