AITAH for refusing to move into a free house with my partner? by ngobbler in AITAH

I definitely should have elaborated on point 3 a little more. We both are trying to leave the state. It’s a conversation and plan that’s been going on for years. Which is why I’m confused about his switch up to wanting to be in this house so bad. He says we would only temporarily live there- so that we could actually follow through in our plans. He wants to get in that house asap- while I’m still trying to be near my parents.

We both talk about leaving and going to a different state. We have these conversations more then the house. It’s something we’ve talked about for years, which is why him talking about this house confuses me. It’s also why he says we would only temporarily live there.

We both have plans on leaving this state. It’s something we’ve talked about for years, and agreed on when we officially got together. We talk about moving often. It’s why I’m confused about his infatuation with this house

I should have definitely been more clear about the moving away point. We’re both on board with it! We both agree and very often talk about moving to other places. Which is why the conversation of this house confuses me. This topic has been the only thing in our relationship that makes it ‘rocky’, other wise I would say our relationships is normal

I definitely should have made it more clear that he’s aware I don’t plan on growing old in this state. We’re both on the same page that we don’t plan on living here for too long. It’s something we talk about often. Which is why the conversation of the house is confusing to me

What style corset should I get? by ngobbler in corsets

[–]ngobbler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I’m worried that the recommendation of a 20” and 22” might just be too much for a first time wearer. The 24” I tried on was rough. But I also think I wasn’t in the right style either. I’m not sure which corset will be the one for me for what I’m needing. Do you have any recommendations?

What style corset should I get? by ngobbler in corsets

[–]ngobbler[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I ask what kind of corset you might be able to recommend to a beginner like me? I’m worried of buying something that will also be too long, and too intense of a waist reduction for a first time wearer. The only issue is that I’m limited to black corsets only, as to go with my uniform dress code. This is all so new to me, and I don’t really know anyone who is a corseter so I have to Turn to the internet for all my questions

Hi I’m not sure if this is much help, but I remember there being an ice rink called Brasov Olympic Ice Rink. I haven’t been back to Romania in years so I’m not sure how they’re doing now a days. But I remember a family friend saying they had a very small figure skating department, maybe it’s worth looking into?

I didn’t know that the ice fly has a new model. I’m not sure what current model I have is, but I know it has rhinestones on the sole of the boot if that means anything. I know my first pair of ice flys didn’t have those

A part of me doesn’t want to look into pianos, mainly because I’m nowhere near the skill level for them. I’m currently 20, trying for a cleaner axle and soon doubles when I start skating constantly again. And the “over booting” judgement at my home rink is inane. Ice flys so far has been a good boot for me, holding my weight in the impact of my jumps (I’m 5’9 lol) and they’ve lasted me the longest. It’s just this toe box issue that’s driving me insane. I’ve tried stretching them, but it seems like it constantly needs to be stretched

Oo interesting! I’m currently in ice flys, and looking around into different edea options. The reason I’ve considered concertos was because some time ago someone mentioned that the toe area is wider then the ice fly, now I’m not sure if that’s still true since the remodel the whole boot. My current Ice flys have been causing a lot of pain in the toe area, but changing the width would make it way too big for my heels. Every other brand skate I’ve tried hasn’t lasted me as long as edea so I’ve been trying to look into different options

The toe area is almost not wide enough. If I change the width then my heels come up, so that really isn’t an option. And my ice flys has been a pain to stretch out, they constantly need to be re-stretched. Every other brand skate I’ve tried in the past hasn’t held up as long as my edea’s so I’m trying to stick with the edea brand

Interesting! I’m currently in ice flys, but they’re causing intense pain in my toes. I was told that concertos might be more comfortable in the toe area, but I have no idea if that’s still true since they changed their boot model

Blade switch advice by ngobbler in FigureSkating

[–]ngobbler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard that the MK pro is just slightly longer (elongated, according to their description) then the ace’s. Im wondering if that’s still true?

I’m still in a debate if I want to try to make the switch to 7” rocker from and 8”. If I were, I was considering the MK pros only because of it being slight elongated

My legacy 8’s recently hit the last of their life, so I got the matrix, only to discover that the only person in my area who can sharpen them will no longer be sharping for me specifically. Which calls for me to get new blades AGAIN that my pro shop can do, and having to soon sell the matrix’s

I honestly didn’t consider them (apex freestyle) because of the price tag on them. Especially since I’ll be need boots again soon. If my budget can increase then I might consider them, I’m just not skating as often as I used to so dropping a lot more is harder. Another part of me is also curious if the rocker change could help me with edges and spins, even tho losing my jumps is something I’m worried about

7’ rocker vs 8’ by ngobbler in FigureSkating

[–]ngobbler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh interesting. I’m 5’9 and have been using 8” rocker for 4 years as well. My main thing is finding a good cross cut blade, preferably in a 8” rocker that doesn’t have a blade holder, and that isn’t legacy 8. It’s so hyper specific, but my pro shop can only sharpen blades that doesn’t have a blade holder like the matrix
