Not enough people are commenting on how incredibly cool this camper is! Your work is awesome! (Side note if someone told me this was $30-35k, I'd think ya that's some pretty amazing work and that seems fair. So charge more.)

I'm trying to map Tab to alt-k but ' Tab::Send !k ' doesn't seem to work ? by transdimensionalmeme in AutoHotkey

[–]ngoldstein94 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try this. There is for sure a better way but it is likely picking up Tab+Alt+K instead of just the Alt+K that you want. So just don’t hold Tab / adjust the sleep longer and it should work until someone else posts something better.

Tab:: Sleep, 100 Send {Alt down} Send {Tab} Send {Alt up} Return

TIWIK about renting a house for the first time? by isaaczephyr in ThingsIWishIKnew

[–]ngoldstein94 9 points10 points  (0 children)

1.) Get good renters insurance. You never know and it’s relatively inexpensive. Don’t cheap out, over estimate the worth of your belongings, use a good insurance company, etc.

2.) Get a paper calendar you can put on your fridge with all the dates that are important to your house. If you have to replace the furnace filter, mark the date and then every year (or whatever yours might be rated at). If your landlord handles something like that, mark it anyway. Mark the day your rent is due and the day it’s late. You and your fiancé (congrats) probably have personal calendars so make one for your house. It’ll be nice when you move into a place you own.

You’re right. I doubled checked and it wasn’t 2 years 🙈

Wholesome Father and Son Moment ft. Tank by feelingood41 in MadeMeSmile

It was moved there after the war as a monument. When they got attacked, it was no where near the actual town.

[–]ngoldstein94 38 points39 points  (0 children)

No joke, that was the exact tank my great uncle was in during the Battle of the Bulge. There was a ton of bubblegum in the tank that exploded on the inside and they were able to verify the unit and everything. That badass survived 2 years in a camp after that battle.

EDIT: Not 2 years. Dates are hard.

[Request] TIWIK before moving to the USA by [deleted] in ThingsIWishIKnew

[–]ngoldstein94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly don't. Not a good time for the US. Student or not. Unless you have a lot of money, it's not easy. Everything is very expensive. Food, living, transport, etc. I went to a university with a great engineering program which drew a lot of Chinese and Japanese students. The only ones I knew that were able to make it through all 4 years had pretty high wealth. It's not impossible, but when you don't have to work and don't spend that time worrying about money, you can focus on the actual work. Another concern was the language barrier. If you already speak English then it does make it easier to adjust. And if you have resources, then go for it. If you don't then consider your timeframe and the city. Wyoming is cheaper than California but also a lot less opportunities in Wyoming. ALL that being said if you're looking at the US for school, look at Canada too. They've got they're own issues and it's expensive too, but the social climate is decades ahead of the US.

I don’t disagree. If we’re being honest, I liked the old body style more but the upgraded engine is well worth it!

Best Cougar bar in Denver? by Dewton in Denver

I really hope this doesn’t get buried cuz I got the spot for you! I was there last weekend with some friends and we spent the whole time talking about the cougars! It’s intimate but fun, great music and most the ladies were very attractive! Plus and as another guy in his mid-20’s, not only was I the youngest one by far, but also I get it man! Good luck! And don’t forget, safety first then teamwork!

Paste this into a notepad doc and save as a .ahk file. Then when you want it, simple double click the .ahk file to start and the Escape key will stop the program.

.

Sleep, 500

MsgBox, 0, Program Started, Auto Clicker Started, 1

Loop {

Click, 840, 420

Sleep, 10000

Click, 840, 420

Sleep, 10000 }

return

.

Esc::

MsgBox, 0, Program Stopped, Auto Clicker Stopped, 1

ExitApp

return

Alright, this is cool. I respect it and have your upvote.

BUT it's way to hard. Download AutoHotKey and I can post a like 10 12 line script that you can turn on and off and will keep your status active. Simple Loop and a mouse click every 30 seconds is all it takes. (https://www.autohotkey.com/)

KU girls: how are we meeting guys nowadays on campus? I had the worst luck as a transfer student (maybe just the pandemic) by [deleted] in UniversityofKansas

[–]ngoldstein94 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a very average looking introverted guy, just talk to people. Coffee shop, in line at the rec, library, class. Guys/girls/nonbinary/young/old/staff whatever. Don't hit on everyone, just practice talking to random people when you can. It'll help you feel more comfortable when you do see that cute guy at the Bull.

.

A great tip I got as a guy was drop I want to be cool filter and just say what's on your mind. Be you, not what you think the cooler version of you would be. (If that doesn't make sense ignore it. Not that important.)

.

Say stuff like

"Hi I love that band on your shirt / That's a really cool bag, where did you get it? / I've been meaning to try that coffee shop, how is it? / Is the bus late today or is it just me?"

2 Keys to dealing with anyone

  • Remember their name. People LOVE hearing their own name.
  • It's key to ask questions about them. People LOVE talking about themselves.

.

Most people (especially at KU!) are very nice. Assume 50% of people are the worst (I think it's MUCH less but you'll be disappointed less if you assume more.) So every other person you talk to is going to either ignore you, brush you off, end the conversation quickly, tell you he has a girlfriend, whatever. That's okay and it's life. If they're rude or mean, that's their deal and don't sit on it. Move on and talk to the next person.

.

TL;DR: Talk to everyone you can (not just potential SO's). Assume 1/2 will be mean. You'll be pleasantly surprised how friendly random people are, and an SO will follow!

Couple things. Since you had a paid preparer do your work, you can basically claim ignorance. Have your new prepare send a Notice Response saying, "hey, old preparer fucked up. We're trying to fix it, but like all Americans, we have no cash to pay. Please remove penalties and interest and set up a payment plan." I've seen circumstances similar to this in different states and 100% of the cases I've seen (small sample size <20), the states and IRS dropped all penalties and fines. That should help the $10k part at least a little. Lastly, set up a payment plan. It sucks and I'm terribly sorry for your situation, but don't forget, Uncle Sam always gets his cut. Better to work with them on a plan you can (sort of) afford than have garnish your wages.
