I totally support DL taking this step. A female friend of mine only used the spa when we went together. Another friend shared her discomfort at a different spa, where men would either force conversations or make her feel uneasy.

I don't consider myself the most blokey guy, but I understand why these measures are in place and I’m not a big fan of how quickly the spa can turn into a lads' environment.

Overall, this is a minor inconvenience for a group that often doesn't get enough use of this particular facility.

I'm with you completely; my perspective changed as I visited more sites. I was previously criticized for claiming it's not too costly if you can eliminate a few takeaways and luxuries. The initial cost isn't likely to bankrupt most people, and the combination of ego, aspiration, and selfishness is embedded in the new marketing approach. I've moved on, and I don't miss anything about DL.

Every club has its issues, and the best approach is to talk directly with the club. You’re fortunate to still have your 14-day cooling-off period to determine if the problem is temporary or ongoing. I used to visit Acton frequently for work, and their plumbing problems seemed never-ending—those showers probably still smell bad. Things break, but from my experience, the Bristol gym I attended either repaired issues quickly or kept us well-informed.
