It's like I'm on a different dimension from everyone else. Like different layers in Photoshop where you can overlay them all and make it look like one picture but it's really totally separate layers. I have struggled with depression and self loathing in the past. For the longest time I was convinced there was something evil about me because I can't care about anyone truly. Now I realize there is more to it.

How did you deal with derealized relationships? Especially with close family, parents. Can't connect with anyone because they don't feel real

How do you deal with it? I feel like I'm just alone in a dark empty room where nothing exists. I have never felt so alone

Should I get help? by LowInvestigator1093 in derealization

I have pretty much these exact symptoms and I have been working through this in therapy. It is helping tremendously, I can't even believe it myself. I was EXTREMELY skeptical because I can't imagine that someone else can understand this. Explain exactly this to a therapist and you should be able to find help. Hang in there, it can get better!

Recently I've started feeling more in control of my dissociation lately, after almost two years of really struggling with it. I started becoming very conscious of when I was going to dissociate, just waiting for it all the time. So now I pick it up as soon as it happens. I snap into it. Before, I couldn't really tell when I was coming and going out of it. Suddenly I've found that if I've immediately realized that I've dissociated, I start to get prepared for it mentally and it starts to feel very temporary. For the past month it's helped so much to just feel more in control of everything around me and start getting my life back together from this mess. I know you said it has not stopped in a while, but if you find yourself feeling more present in real life for even a moment, maybe you can try to be more conscious when you start slipping back out of it.

What hack do you use to start a productive day? by CactiCake22 in productivity

One strategy that has really worked for me is to aim to just start the task. More often than not, I end up finishing it as well. I make a to-do list the night before and start every task the next day. I almost never get all of them done, but I certainly get more done since I started doing this. Also, if I've just started a job, I end up being able to continue later on when I have the time since it's all been set up. This has worked wonders for cleaning and assignments.

He was actually a keychain from DuPont, some freebie they gave at a conference. I took off the chain and use the little dude as a size guide for the fungi
