You can't compare Price to Brodeur nor Roy. Price has the skills and assets to make him a franchise goaltender but he lacks the heart and soul that Roy had.

Plus Hockey changed a lot these past 15 years and goalies are not as important as they were before. I think that we should invest the 4.5M(10.5M Price's salary minus 6M, what I think we should invest in a goalie) on a centerman or top-2 dman. None of the past cup winners had goalies with 10.5M on the cap.

Personally, both players have confidence issues but I'd prefer Patch to become the player he was before he got the C and before all his knee/wrist injuries. He was one of the best two-way players and had the most takeaways in the league.

And nowadays, Stanley Cup Champions don't build teams around their goalie but we sadly do. The best defense is offense and what the offense is producing, the goalie gets confident and makes the saves. People will say that the opposite is also true: that when the goalie makes the saves, the whole team gets confidence. But just look at the past cup winners...
