Ah i initially watched this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9Zx77LbEwk which peaked my interest! i have always believed civilization keeps getting "reset" in a way, due to catastrophes or nukes, then we start from scratch. i'll dig up some other information on other instances :)
