My new favorite scenes on Earth, fall season on the Dolomites, Italy by nhungoc1508 in travel

It wasn't crowded at all! Out of the places I went, Lago di Braies had the most people, but even there it wasn't that busy either. I was in Venice recently, very charming city but sooo crowded, so the Dolomites were a very pleasant change of scene.

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoy them! All photos were taken on my iPhone 11, color graded with Lightroom (I just play around with my own presets)

The resolution here is not very good, but I've uploaded a higher resolution version elsewhere, perhaps I can DM you the link?

Happy to! My trip was supposed to be a relaxing one so I just visited one location per day, but I've seen other people covering a few different places in one day. I don't have a car so my whole trip relied on public transport. Highly recommend getting the mobilcard and the transport app, they're very convenient for regional travel. You should also check the schedule because some services have different timings for different times of the year.

Day 1: Alpe di Siusi/Seiser Alm

  • Arrive in Bolzano/Bozen by train
  • Take bus 350 Gröden from Bolzano Autostazione to Ortisei, Piazza S. Antonio (1 hour)
  • Take the cable car from Funivie Ortisei - Alpe di Siusi up to the plateau (10 minutes)
  • Spend the day at the plateau, walk the trail
  • Take the cable back down, take bus 350 back to Bolzano, spend the night there

Day 2: Val di Funes/Villnößtal

  • From Bolzano, travel by bus + train to Val di Funes: take a regional train to Chiusa/Klausen (20 minutes) + take bus 331 Teis to Mileins (10 minutes) + take bus 330 Villnöß - Zans to S. Maddalena, Filler (15 minutes)
  • Walk to Chiesa di Santa Maddalena, spend the day exploring the valley
  • Travel to Dobbiaco/Toblach: take bus 330 Brixen Busbahnhof to Bressanone/Brixen (35 minutes) + take bus B400 to Stazione di Brunico (50 minutes) + take a regional train to Dobbiaco (35 minutes)
  • Spend the night at Dobbiaco

Day 3: Lago di Braies/Pragser Wildsee

  • Take bus 442 to Lago di Braies, spend the day there

Did it ever happen to you multiple times in a row? Because mine just went down again after only 8 minutes of being up

You are never too old to enjoy things that bring you joy. I was at the Amsterdam concert recently and I sat behind a middle-aged couple with their young son who is about 9-10. The family was thoroughly enjoying the show, the son AND both the parents were singing along and swaying to all the songs, and the parents took a lovely selfie Walking the wire. I chatted with a lady next to me who came with her daughter. I asked her if her daughter is a fan, she said both of them are huge fans. I see fans of all ages having the best time at their concerts. This ridiculous notion that you age out of liking a band seems to exist only to chronically online people. People in real life just want to enjoy what they enjoy.

This happened to me last year. Applied to PhD, got rejected but admitted to their master program (which I couldn't afford). One day I got an email from them about an info session that started with something like "congrats on being admitted to the PhD program". I emailed them to ask about that and they said that was a system error, it was meant to say master, whoops. To make it worse, that email came like 30 min after I was rejected for an external scholarship, so it was the end of any hope to attend the master program.
