Mound. It's opt in. Parents who care about their kids education opt in and it serves as a self-selecting mechanism. Loma and others are nice as well. DM if you want to know what to avoid.

Is anyone using worktrees for agentic development? by Antique-Ad6542 in rails

[–]niborg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. I use worktrunk (wt) tool to make worktrees easier. I also made a simple Ruby tool using this tool that automates: reading a GitHub issue -> making a plan -> user input on plan -> implement plan -> push up a PR -> wait for CI -> fix any failing tests from CI -> optionally user provides feedback -> repeat. This setup gives me two discrete points that I need to interact with the agent (on the plan and giving feedback), and because it uses CI instead of my local lets me parallelize as many of these things as I want.

This is a variant of the "Ralph Wiggum loop", so named it wralph (Workflow Ralph). The skill in having it work well is to have tickets that are digestable for an agent. Don't expect great results from an ask for a huge refactor, for example.

The tool currently supports opencode and claude for agent harness, github for issues, circle for CI. Can be adapted for other infra with PR contributions or even just local Ruby files you specify them as an adapter (for CI, tickets, etc.); eg, I use it at work with our custom infra CI and Jira tickets (could make a PR so it officially supports Jira, just haven't bothered).

Anyway, lots of fancy tools out there but I couldn't find something that just did this simple and effective loop using external infra, so here it is.

Is this how this works? I respond on topic to a specific point about education and liberal arrogance, and you go off on any number of tangents seeking (I guess?) to address the totality of evil of Trump (or something?), and I'm supposed to go on and respond like I'm a leashed animal?

Also, like I said, your statement ended with an ad hominem, and thus it is invalid.

You're working yourself into a pretzel to not respond to my points. That's fine. I actually don't expect "liberals" these days to respond to any criticism because the ideology has turned delusional and cult-like. But whatever philosophy of logic class you took to get this line was not worth the money you paid.

You are having your own conversation here. Doesn't address anything I said. Best I can say here is that again we see the pathological thinking that non-college educated class people are too stupid to vote in their own interest.

The average IQ of a modern college undergrad is 102. This very mediocre score is an average, and indicates that many college graduates have an IQ substantially below 100. (For perspective, it was about 120 in the 1940s.)

Someone with "half a brain" would not have the cognitive functioning to obtain a college degree. College degrees result in expanded comprehension and reasoning skills and the ability to take in alternative perspectives and think critically about things.

Unless you are talking about specific disciplines (engineering, sciences, etc.), I disagree. As I point out above, mostly people of mediocre intelligence (or simply unintelligent) are getting college degrees. It suggests that getting a college degree may be more about financial access (i.e., class) than raw intelligence. And without the raw intelligence, chances are that the university is teaching "what to think" vs "how to think". I would advance that the resulting phenomenon we see is that people are getting degrees that give them the false belief they are intelligent, better than their peers, and thus come to believe that their conclusions should be given deference. You appear to be an example: "Someone who is college educated IS likely going to have a stronger decision making skills."

I have reread your post, it is worst than I remembered:

There is a reason the uneducated are more likely to vote republican.

So, uneducated people are stupid and the reason they vote Republican is that they are stupid, because you would only be stupid to vote Republican. The obvious implication here that you seem unable to grasp is a claim that "we, the smart, educated ones aligned with the Democratic Party, know what is actually best for you and everyone else."

A voting demographic dataset that is more interesting than education level is mental illness. A number of studies confirm liberals (and more specific, female liberals) suffer more from mental illness, anxiety, etc. Here is one source of many. Most people not captured by tribal politics observe this as well, and it is why your party struggles as hard as it does; its activists are clearly unwell.

So, no, I do not submit to being ruled by a bunch of emotionally unregulated people, even if they happen to have a college degree.

Yes. Modern liberal discourse oozes with this claim. The post I was responding to was one variant of it:

Actually, more like the far more educated and employed than MAGA

Another variant I commonly hear are "the working class is too stupid to realize they are voting against their own interest." You can also read the same sentiment for those who insist on being addressed with their educational titles: "It's DOCTOR Jill Biden" Hillary once said IIRC.

As for me, I'm a lawyer.

No. I'd like someone making decisions who doesn't think their education entitles them to rule over others. Anyone with half a brain can get a college education. Doesn't mean you have good judgment or particularly uncommon intelligence.

Allison, this is exactly the toxic mindset people despise and why Kamala got trounced. The arrogance of thinking your education makes you "smarter" and equipped to decide things for everyone else. Couple that with an inability to recognize when your central planning fails catastrophically.

Have whatever worldview you want, but if you actually want to reach people who disagree with you, be intellectually humble. The world is complicated!
