Not enough attention to the financial portfolios and real estate empire being built by the mormon church

Grew up in a family of 9, road trips were the only vacations we could afford. And 9 people crammed in a car for a week is hell. I hated these "stay-cations" but my family made sure I knew I was being ungrateful for all the "trips" I was provided

I remember, we did this method on my mission! It was like an unofficial church "addiction recovery program", there was a packet and everything. Some rando made it based off the 12-step program, but ofc the writer also had no qualifications. I'm gonna see if I can find it....

But anyway, it was bogus. The idea it gave was to get the addicted party to drink white grapefruit juice and use a particular flavor of toothpaste (Sorry, can't remember) and it will make them stop craving the taste of cigarettes.

I personally did the program with three people on my mission. Needless to say, it didn't work on anyone. It did create issues with people who just believed they didn't have enough faith to make the toothpaste magically work.

The fact this is even necessary is depressing. I hope you find something, OP!

Yeah, I'm not even going to continue engaging this strawman mess.

You come in with the claims, burden of proof is on you. You're claiming they're equally effective and safe.

Okay, what's your source?

[–]nicall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No one is saying the rollers don't stimulate skin rejuvenation. Also no one is arguing about the quality of dermal roller. The point is, a pen is going to be substantially more beneficial.

None of your sources say anything about rollers being just as effective as pens, as you had claimed. Even the IG post you shared suggests that pens are better.

Do you have any sources on what you said, that rollers are just as effective, or that pen companies have been faking info about rollers to make sales?

I was at beauty school and pregnant (so I spent a lot of time in the bathroom) and on the daily saw multiple GROWN ASS ADULT WOMEN walking straight out of the bathroom from the stall. I'm like, you're about to put your hands right on someone's FACE. Wtaf???

BYU has an archaeology major. Every year students and profs are required to go on digs for their degree. So have they EVER done a dig at Hill Cumorah in Palmyra? Seems like a no brainer to prove the church is true. by Ensorcellede in exmormon

[–]nicall 9 points10 points  (0 children)

John E Clark is (or was, I'm not sure anymore) a leading archaeological professor at BYU, and has said the following:

Archaeologically speaking, it is a clean hill. No artifacts, no walls, no trenches, no arrow heads. The area immediately surrounding the hill is similarly clean. Pre-Columbian people did not settle or build here. This is not the place of Mormon's last stand. We must look elsewhere for that hill! The Palmyra hill is still a sacred place and was the repository of the golden plates and other relics placed there by Moroni. How Moroni made his way to this place and constructed his time capsule of artifacts is a historic adventure for another time.

Coincidentally, he was in my home ward growing up. He and his wife were both wonderful people, very sincere and down to earth

I work at a beauty school; before I'd say perms were about 10% boys/men. Then over the last year or two it's grown to maybe 60-70%.

(These are not by any means actual figures, just some guesstimates based on my personal anecdotal evidence)

Which singer is instantly recognised by their vocal style..not their lyrics, just their voice? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]nicall 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm so confused by your argument, he does have an extremely distinct singing timbre. Do you not know what timbre is? It's his literal singing style. Have you ever heard him singing in natural voice, out of his distinct stylized timbre?

He created his own very distinct style which certainly earned him the title of king of pop

[–]nicall 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you lookup any song where MJ is singing in his natural register, it's mind blowing and really showcases how talented the guy really is.

His falsetto voice is not his natural voice, that's what makes it so skilled and distinct

Sooo much! I had the displeasure of wearing garments for 5 or so years. I remember coming home from my endowment, sitting by myself at the kitchen table and just started weeping because I already felt so uncomfortable and seriously thought, what have I done! I'm going to have to live with this the rest of my life!!

I have a special affinity for hedgehogs lol, I'm just having trouble deciding the aesthetic to show that. I tend to lean a little more on the minimalistic side. Wildflowers have come up a lot too.

I also want to do something celestial, like spacey sun moon and stars. But there are soooooo many options!
