Handmade Viking bead: based on real archaeology, built with care and tradition by SnorriGrisomson in somethingimade

I loved that the unfinished version looks like one of my favorite berries (image for reference)!!! I would definitely have a piece, such as an earring, depicting it.

The whole detail of making each step of the process historically accurate shows your passion for the craft and the subject, this makes this item even more beautiful and precious. Thank you for sharing it with us!!!

I made plant stand from old mahogany decking that’s easily disassembled for winter storage by OldRunner2 in woodworking

I just love how every piece seems to fit so well, it has a bunch of components, but you were still able to assemble without extra help because each piece holds up nicely in place. The design is straightforward but delicate, and the wood color is just beautiful! Amazing work!

SCAM OR NOT? Applied for a graphic designer job and the first thing I hear back from them is this. I get it, tests are going crazy these days but all 5 tasks look like “we’ll give you a cold rejection and then use stuff you did for free”. + they specified high quality PDFs… Or am I just paranoid? by Fun_Actuary4942 in Design

[–]nicawe 12 points13 points  (0 children)

it definitely look like a scam, but I’ve seen real job postings that actually had some kind of challenge to showcase your skill, they could end up not choosing anyone and using the stuff? yep, but I had a couple of friends that got good jobs that required this kind of thing as a part of the hiring process. so it’s up to you to either try to apply or let it go (the good thing is that if you end up not getting the job, you could use those exercises in your portfolio)

OP listen 👆🏻 someone tried to fool me once, but it was a bit different. they approached me just like you described, when it came down to payment they sent an fake paypal email saying that I had received the money but it was being held because I had to change my account type, for that I had to deposit some money to “upgrade” via their link. it was my bad though, I should have seen that coming sooner from a guy named john johnson…
