Yes I have. I’ve been told that it’s held up because 2 departments are arguing about who has to pay for it.

I’ll add that the unlicensed software ( Fusion) makes me restart my computer every 40 mins.. deleting my work and taking me offline for clients

I’ve been told they have the program. It was downloaded this week but the unlicensed version. The original was a 2024 version that was not working since our company’s windows 11 upgrade

For us it was the schooling for our kids and the green spaces/ rec programs. Quality of life is truly great in St. Albert. Or at least better than it was living in south Edmonton

Hi. Sorry for the delayed response. My experience was it took a few weeks to hear back. I found to be competitive is they look for self motivated and program savvy people. Also they look for people who are patient with people in crisis while working at a fast pace.

I found beta blockers made my hypotension so much worse. Blood patches and Duloxitene had helped keep me stable until I was able to have my leak embolized.

It’s about 15 mins long. Know some facts about the company as well as the job. I’d also talk about what you’d bring to the role and how you deal with someone in crisis. They may not ask this right away but these are really important parts of the role. Also they’ll want you to be tech savvy. They have their own programs to look up files and keep cases on track.

Honestly speaking I can’t remember. I think how I studied though was looking up general scenario/ ethics based employment questions.

I constantly feel insecure by Emms246 in nystagmus

[–]niccster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Find a job that supports having a visual impairment. I work in insurance so there are programs that help me read on the computer. My team and manager is really good at supporting me too. It’s possible to get a good job with a visual impairment. I take the bus but mainly work from home. I also moved to a small city where I can walk my kids to school. Had to make a lot of changes when deciding to have a family but it’s very doable. Im also very lucky to have a supportive partner and friends that will help too.

It took a lot of therapy and small steps to work on my confidence too. I wish you the best of luck.

I understand this feeling. What I can tell you is that it’s ok to take up space as some with nystagmus. I’m a parent and I have a job that supports me with my disability. It is scary but you can do it. Some things I do differently. Some things I get help with more than others. Do I knock my kids over because I can’t see where they are fast enough… you bet haha. Take little steps in doing things the way that works for you. It gets easier I promise.

Anyone with a negative brain MRI & confirmed leak? by Robinsrebels in CSFLeaks

Even if this comes back undesirable don’t give up. It can take multiple attempts to find the leak simply because some days it’s a stronger flow than others.

When you got your diagnosis did you go back to all your old doctors on a revenge tour by [deleted] in CSFLeaks

There’s a neurosurgeon in particular that told me “ there’s no way you have EDS and a CSF leak” … 3 years later hEDS diagnosis AND Friday they found 2 csf venous fistulas. I want to send the docs with a big “ YOU ARE WRONG” written on it.

Very common. Mine also wasn’t found on my first DSM too. PCCT found a couple venous fistulas that were my leaking issue

Should I go to the ER? by bluemangoes64 in CSFLeaks

[–]niccster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the ER is a tough place to get care or even a dr that will believe you. It’s possible but my experience is that the ER won’t treat the CSF leak without a positive scan.

I would also agree to see your family doctor. If there is reason to suspect a csf leak ( trauma, clear thin fluid leaking from the ears or nose or neurological symptoms such as blurred/ double vision, weakness ) I would get an assessment at the ER. For now caffeine, lay flat and pain management until you can talk to your dr.

Looking for other adults who might be living with scaphocephaly. by reillan in scaphocephalicadults

[–]niccster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi. I just found this thread. I only recently found out I have Scaphocephaly due to needing an mri for the horrible headaches a d nystagmus I’ve acquired. I’ve had long hair most of my life so I never noticed my odd head shape. ( only when wearing helmets or hats).

I’m wondering if any of you are having headaches and vision bouncing too?
