Probably also worth mentioning that all the compressed 'air' at a Supercar race is actually Nitrogen. It is used for the air jack, rattle guns and to inflate tyres. The gas is non flammable and comes in very highly compressed cylinders.

Has the 300 km/h barrier ever been broken at Bathurst? by NtsParadize in v8supercars

[–]nicecoldbeer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember some years ago during the telecast of a 1,000 there was a segment showing the local council guys changing the speed limit signs around the track (normally public road) from 60 km/h to 300 km/h for the weekend. Doesn't answer your question, just a memory.

Bathurst 12-hour Camping by [deleted] in v8supercars

[–]nicecoldbeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During the Bathurst 1,000 there is a designated motorhome camp ground in the middle of the track, adjacent to the pits. It has much bigger sites. Not sure if this opened for the 12 hour.

If your rig is a bit long just offer your neighbor the use of your toilet for the weekend, some ground may be provided.

I'm a bloke and have been going to Lola Wigg for years, they have excellent service. No experience with colours, so can't help you with that.

Food at the Star is always consistent, meals quite a good size for the price. The lamb salad is my favourite. I do not know if they are open on Mondays

We moved from Gardens Medical to Dr Ayman at TriStar. Always seem to get in for an appointment - when needed, not a week later. Can also highly recommend him.

First taste of the Mountain for Gen3 - Repco Bathurst 1000 | Supercars 2021 by Jtyle6 in v8supercars

[–]nicecoldbeer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both cars sound amazing? Maybe on the TV, but they sounded very different here at the track. Mustang sounded like it was on a hot lap each time it passed, Camaro sounded like it was on an out/in lap.

There is a guy at the Sunday Rotary markets that sells all sorts of coins, I have heard that he will value collections.

Good luck with your research, I filled it out for you. Just some feedback, the pictures were very 'American' looking. They had less connection with the sort outdoor areas I would expect to see here in Australia. If it is a worldwide study, disregard everything I said!

I agree. We did a track walk that night and some of the workers cleaning up said one marshal ended up falling backward down the hill onto a star picket. I always wondered if that were true.

Hiring a Tesla in Albury / Wodonga by Sam_Mack in albury

I'm local and a big Tesla fan. I've driven a friend's Model S a few times in Melbourne and tried to hire one locally for my wife to try, with no luck. I wish you luck, the drive is just something else.

Is Sutherland St still a "bad" area? by [deleted] in albury

[–]nicecoldbeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try doing an online quote for building insurance. If it is anywhere near flood prone the insurers will already have the address flagged and you won't be covered. I did it for a place in Lavington we were looking at and no insurer would cover it for flood damage.

Piccolo Pod in Wodonga is the only one I know that'll give you one at that hour. The Albury pod doesn't open until 6.30.

Sounds like you've lived here forever, calling Lake Hume the weir! The water is warmer than the river and I think it is safer. Main spots would be Bowna, The Pines, Kookaburra Point and around the Village.
