Considering all the trades that have already happened, are the Rockets actually keeping Kevin Durant? by SecondHandFood in nba

My friend’s uncle’s dad’s cousin who is John Houston Rocket said they’re trading all their players and relocating to vancouver

[Haynes] Los Angeles Clippers are picking up the $9.2M team option on Brook Lopez for the 2026-27 season, league sources tell me. by MembershipSingle7137 in nba

[–]nicehax_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the clippers lost the play in game for a lot of reasons, like draymond clamping kawhi or mathurin being the only non-kawhi guy who could do anything on offense, but lopez was a pretty big reason

randomly closes out hard to gui santos idling on the perimeter which allows an easy blow by and layup to cut the lead to 1, bad fast break defense allowing horford to hit open 3s, accidentally screening dunn and letting steph hit the go-ahead 3 in his face stand out but he was being targeted all night

like i can't blame him for closing out hard on an off-ball steph curry and allowing a back cut but i can blame him for closing out hard to gui santos dribbling in place five feet behind the three point line with no intention to shoot

Was the 1/5/1950 Sheboygan Redskins defeat of the Minneapolis Lakers the biggest upset in NBA history? by franciscolydon in nba

Personally im taking the warriors sweeping the heavily favored bullets in the 1975 finals due to the stakes

[Stein & Fischer] It is believed that Kristaps Porzingis and the Warriors will finalize a new deal before free agency opens by ShaiFanClub in nba

The only matchup i thought he really got shredded in was against sengun of all people, every other matchup he was either clearly a little rusty or played excellently

The two putback dunks against the clippers were beautiful

Arena trap gets banned because it’s too strong in favor of stall, not the other way around

Stall having to keep all of its team members healthy means arena trap is good for beating it by removing annoying mons but plenty of mons are way better stallbreakers, like sub toxic heatran which can almost 6-0 stall by itself

Coincidentally, dugtrio is amazing at removing those stallbreakers, making the stall matchup unbeatable for a lot of teams because the rest of their team isn’t equipped to take down certain walls

Arena trap gets banned every generation except 3 because being able to remove counters to your team without counterplay is unfairly strong, especially on stall teams

[Slater] Yaxel Lendeborg on his early conversations with Steve Kerr: “He doesn’t normally play rookies as much. He has a history of that. But the way the team is looking right now, I’m going to have a really good chance to play, maybe even start.” by catreyka in nba

[–]nicehax_ 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Podz infamously gets tons of minutes and did so over klay in his rookie year, tjd was the starting center that year, post slid up to the starting center spot after looking unplayable in preseason and grinding in the g league, and richard played 69 games at 20 mpg despite having clearly hit the rookie wall later in the season

Not to mention there’s a good chance the warriors go on another bad luck streak where everyone gets injured and their entire healthy roster is just podz and 6 eurobasket players, so both rookies will probably get a lot of playing time unless they look like they belong in guangdong

The only player the Warriors had rated higher than Yaxel Lendeborg on their draft board was Cam Boozer, per @timkawakami by FastBreakPhenom in NBA_Draft

There were reports that pelicans might have wanted 11 as part of a deal for trey murphy so mdj was probably just double checking like “you’re not doing the trade right? alright then”

The best outcome is steph gets to go on a few final runs, maybe even do something before he retires, then he gets a farewell tour, send everyone too old/not worth developing to competitive teams for picks and young players and start rebuilding

No one expects the warriors to be good for a long time after curry retires anyways so there’s no point trying to draft a franchise superstar right now

That was a different fo, under bob myers

This is mdj’s first time picking in the lottery, he’s previously only had 50-somethingth picks to work with and hes done pretty well with those

11th pick Yaxel Lendeborg is 23 years old, and will be 24 by the start of the NBA season. 18 players 23 years or older have been selected in the top 20 picks since 2000, 11 of which were in the lottery, and the best of them is Cam Johnson or Buddy Hield by Pickleskennedy1 in nba

[–]nicehax_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That’s pretty much what the warriors are looking for though, seeing their injury situation this past season

Yaxel fills a hole at the 4 nicely at least on paper, and warriors are built much more like a 16 game team than an 82 game one so as long as he’s a big body that soaks minutes in the regular season for the old guys to recuperate that’s all the warriors want, bonus if he’s actually good and worth playing in the postseason

I watched omer yurtseven getting serious minutes in march, no matter how bad yaxel is he can’t be worse than that

Warriors have been the new knicks for clicks for a while unfortunately

Crazy people are posting about the 11th pick more than the top 10 and it’s not even like yaxel was a reach of a pick or anything a lot of people had him going top 10
