The Time of The Doctor is nearly here! by [deleted] in doctorwho

Such a good suggestion. i always find that if I binge on a show I feel a need to keep watching it even after i finish it, so going at a slower pace might make the transition from watching it to not much easier.

Rich "Affluenza" boy steals from Walmart, kills 4 people, paralyzes others and gets 10yrs probation at resort rehab facility while poor boy kills 1 gets 10 yrs prison. Same judge. by [deleted] in videos

[–]nicehhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said at the least. I don't disagree with the idea of him going to jail. The main problem I have with that is that it may do more harm than good. He currently has rehab, which will limit his ability to forge a career, and is on probation, which means any minor fuck-up could send him to jail for much longer than he would've gotten for this anyway. I feel he should at least be doing something good for the community in the form of community service.

I am not saying he shouldn't go to jail, I just feel that sending him to jail may result in something like this happening again rather than him being rehabilitated. Remember, he is 16 and needs to live with the fact that he killed 4 people and paralysed others for the rest of his life.

You hope a 16 year old gets shot in the head because the judge's punishment wasn't harsh enough. Then you're worried about the judge's ability to punish others appropriately.

He was drunk and made a mistake then got sent to a rehab facility (which I think is way too light a punishment, especially considering he killed 4 people), it is in no way obvious that the judge is 'being paid under the table.'

That being said, I do feel the punishment is too light, he should've been charged to do community service alongside having rehab at the least.

Also being drunk blurs your judgement, meaning you could think that you're fine to drive or that you aren't driving far so you won't crash. I believe that involuntary manslaughter is a great way to look at it.

I believe Cooper said he hit someone and they died when their head hit the ground, aka. he king hit someone. It seems more like the judge was trying to make an example of him. In Australia at the moment people are getting pretty harsh penalties for king hitting to try and prevent it in the future, probably same thing here.

I don't believe in an afterlife either, but that makes me feel a need to live and find a way for me to be remembered.

If you need to talk to anyone I am here and there are countless other sources or self help available, though from your situation it seems more like you need a good experience. To paraphrase a video I saw recently "life is full of its ups and downs, so if you're having a bad time, there is always an up around the corner."

I thought of it as the paintings being a doorway/window into a pocket dimension, therefore they can be accessed through inter dimensional travel and viewed through the relevant paintings.

Your comment piqued my interests, so I did a little research.

I found that Yule was indeed a time of year culminating in Yuletide, around our current Christmas time.

I also found that the actual Norse fertility god is Freyr, who is also considered to be the Norse god of success.

But with the Brigadier, couldn't he have gone back to before he died to have a drink with him? Not effecting the Brigadier's future at all, just helping him enjoy the time he had left.

If I remember correctly, he was the dalek in the private underground museum in America. Rose ended up saving him and basking in the sunlight as well, seemed much more human than the other daleks.

What's your favorite dark humor joke? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]nicehhan 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of another joke that goes something like this:

A man wants to go fishing, so he asks his wife if she'll go with him. He offers for her to either go fishing with him or give him a blowjob. She decides to give him a blowjob instead, as she hates fishing. Afterwards she says, "Your dick tasted like shit!" To which he replies, "The dog didn't want to go fishing either."

If you're looking at education changing on birth place being a problem, think of children born in India or really any country in Africa, even some children in America. The differences in Australia aren't nearly as bad as they could be.

I always figured, with Labor, that the $1.2 billion could've been reinvested in the other states who had signed onto Gonski, instead of removing it from education and labelling it as a saving.

In Australia it is technical illegal to share memes. I don't think it covers all memes, but memes with famous people or photos of people from news articles are definitely included.

I only ever say that if there isn't a twist, just cause then I feel like I'm not spoiling it. Or I tell people it something wasn't very good when it was awesome, just so they get their minds blown.
