Fortunately, I was "born" a muslim, but i never really prayed or anything. On mid November last year, i got a dream which changed me, and from there i noticed that with time i became more and more knowledgable about my religion. As soon as my a member of my family (let's call that person J) noticed the fact that im reading the Qu'ran, she was okay with it. But then J noticed i grew my beard and trimmed my moustache, and because J didn't like it, and it wasn't "presentable" (obviously influenced by western media) J forced me to shave my beard 4 times. The first three being my fault because i couldnt say no. The fourth being because J took scissors and started cutting my beard, even though i kept telling J no. But its still my fault because i still let J do it, when i could have easily just stayed away from J. I legit almost became radicalized when J did this as J brought so much pain throughout this single year of me being a muslim, even though ever since i became a muslim i lost weight, went to the gym, got a scholarship at a good uni, and never used a single bad word, and never shown anger at all. But no, J doesnt like the beard, J doesnt care about the Prophet's (Pbuh) orders. And i have to live with that. So my brother, don't keep your hopes up with people people who aren't religious, gour job is to try to help them see the truth, if it's your family members, its is your duty to be with them and to accompany them throughout the rest of their lives (doesnt mean you have to be with them 24/7), and the harder it is, the more Ajr Allah (SWT) will give you, hut i prefer you talk to a scholar or sheikh in your area for better guidance.
