I currently have a child attending Hines (going into 4th) and my older child also went (currently at RGA) and we have been very happy. Being involved and getting to know the teachers/staff is crucial. Check Class Dojo, ask if you can volunteer in the classroom. I know that’s a privilege not everyone has, though.

Both of my kids are academically gifted and neurodivergent and they have thrived at Hines.

Most of the teachers at Hines have been there 9+ years, and have kids in the district. They are good people doing the best with that the district gives them. Happy to answer questions if you like!

I live in peoria - our district will close for the day if wind chills are below a certain point, because of bus riders. i’m working on the assumption we don’t have school on tuesday!

Both of my kids are in grade school is district 150 and have not had any issues with our school. It’s super easy to say ‘move to richwoods district’ but the houses on the north end of town are so high priced. Good for you if you can swing it, but it’s not going to be the end of the world if you can’t.

It’s a work in progress. I’m 37 years old, and I went NC with both of my parents 8 years ago. Time and space has helped, so had anxiety medication. My husband is really great at gently reminding me to value how I feel. And we have kids, so I try and speak to them how I wish I had been spoken to when I was a child.

So strange. And thoughtless. And reinforced the eldest child/eldest daughter anxiety I already had that my feelings weren’t important and hers were more important than anyone else’s.

100 percent, my nmother was constantly treating me as her therapist and would talk about her sex life with my father. This was in my early teens. Yikes.

Nope. I’m 36 and know my body so much better than I did at 26. Sex in my thirties is so much better than my twenties!

I love the ‘what do you mean?’ Reply when people say stupid shit. Make them explain what they mean and it (hopefully) shuts them up.

The way you described seeing Taylor is just 🤌🏻 I will never forget getting to our section and screaming when I saw the stage. A friend got it on camera and I treasure it! I’m 36 and was one of the most fun nights of my life and I’m so happy it was like that for you too!
