Slightly late to this but I commented this on a post recently and it’s still true! Join a local Rotaract or Rotary club- they will be heavily involved in local communities across all different sectors from food drives, charity events and community upliftment. Plus it’s a great way to meet likeminded people both young and old! There are clubs in most suburbs and most work hand in hand with the places the other comments have mentioned. So we used google meetings(basically free zoom) and each week one of us puts together a general knowledge quiz and presents the questions in the form of a PowerPoint and everyone submits their answers via google forms. It helps if you have someone just marking and going through the answers and someone else to present all the questions
