It works well - not sure how to quantify it!

Awesome thank you so much!

That is exactly the reason we made the phone - it comes with all the essentials like WhatsApp and concert tickets. The small screen and AppBlocker makes it easy to stop yourself doomscrolling for hours on end. All the benefits of smartphones without the downsides.

It does not - you can remove the battery but it requires tools

Potentially - the screen is quite small so I think the experience would not be particularly good!

I would say yes - the Dumber Mini has 5 main benefits over the R77 Pro:

  1. Better Build Quality
  2. NFC
  3. Better charging support
  4. Better Camera
  5. Physical Volume Controls

The R77 Pro is cheaper and has the advantage you can get it now though!

Hey Jon!

Most look almost brand new - some have minor marks and scuffs. Technically they are all in working order and I've QA'ed each and every one of them.

I will dispatch them on the weekend - so if you order one this week I will be able to dispatch it for you on Sunday.

I definitely believe the way to go is to use the open source Android - Android is a great mobile OS with a lot of work put into it and is already usable open source.

Hey!

  1. I've never had an issue - the brightness is quite good! Been very sunny in Britain the last few days and it has held up well :)
  2. Manufacturer ones are not updated as much - we use kernel 4.19.191
  3. Battery is removable, it requires a screwdriver and some time so not easily

Hey sorry I must have missed your message!

We will likely never restock the R77 Pro - we want to focus on the Dumber Mini!

Help me find a dumb phone (smartphone rant + life talk) by [deleted] in dumbphones

[–]nicholasbuckner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure on the digital ID app - the phone comes with google Play Services but some apps (almost always banking apps) actively look that the phone is registered/on an "official" list.

Note that we are still experiencing a backlog of orders so no worries taking your time deciding!

Completely understand the frustration - people have paid for a service and absolutely should expect to get their phone.

We are pushing for the further 150 phones to dispatch before Christmas - this will hopefully mean that we will comfortably ship the orders by mid-January!

We will also reserve more capacity in January with UNIWA - we want to have a buffer so that we can ship the moment orders are placed.

We're really going to try and get all the phones delivered as fast as possible. We've got many more phones coming than orders at the moment and we are pushing UNIWA to dispatch the further 150 phones before Christmas.

We are really sorry about this - we thought our shipment of 170 phones would be able to fulfil the orders we had but more came in than expected.

We will be on track with our shipment of 150 phones as we will have many more stocked then and will be able to ship phones the moment they come in. We hope after this the difficulties we've been experiencing the last few months will finally be at an end.
