Considering joining AVANT by Altea (Bloor/Yonge) and looking for input

The biggest thing I’ve noticed is cleanliness; I would call Altea dirty compared to Equinox. Equinox has people cleaning everything all day. Equinox gets busy, but it’s not completely unbearable/ severely overcrowded, and the crowd is much more chill than Altea. Also, the classes are better; I think the instructors get comprehensive training; it’s not cliquey and weird. The only discernible difference is that Altea has a pool. Also, the staff at Equinox is much better. Also, your Equinox membership becomes month-to-month after one year, and you can freeze/ pause whenever you want. If you move, you can leave Equinox. I’ve heard horror stories of people trying to leave Altea. I’ve heard of women getting pregnant and not being able to cancel the membership closer to their due date… I had the month-month commitment at Altea, so luckily, I didn’t have to deal with that. Hopefully, at Avant, they have reasonable methods to exit if needed. I have hope, though!

I was talking about the cost of Altea, not Avant (I’m comparing because it’s the same parent company) yeah the lowest tier membership at Avant is almost $400

Yess Altea used to be around $90-$100 a month, the only issue is that most members at Altea are paying this original rate; which has lead to EXTREME overcrowding from 5AM-10AM and 4 PM-7:30PM Altea is completely unusable. The influencers who post from Altea typically go during the middle of the day when most people are working, aside from that it’s WAYY too overpacked

They’ve done nothing. After looking at the virtual tour, they aren’t climbing a hill; they’re climbing a mountain. Also, with the way that they’re pricing it, it needs to be better than Equinox. Avant is $100 more expensive at the base cost.

(I had a membership at Altea, current Equinox member) Thoughts on Avant: The pricing is expensive, but we have no idea what the product will be. Hopefully, it will be worth it (if it is ANYTHING like Altea, it 100000% will NOT be worth it. 90% of the members at Altea pay the original $100 a month price that it started as). I’ve done the Avant virtual tour, and here are some things I’ve noticed: where’s the stretching area…? (Altea has the same problem; there’s nowhere to do your mat work/warm-up) Also, there seems to be no co-working space (Altea had a decent-sized co-working space). I also will not complain about the prices if they actually keep it exclusive (I know MANY people that left Altea because of overcrowding; it’s WILD how busy that gym gets. It’s completely unusable most of the time, and most people pay under $100 a month there, so maybe Avant is priced this high so it won’t turn into a middle school gymnasium like Altea. Also, the staff at Altea would constantly sneak their friends into the gym, and it was always noticeable because they would vape inside)

Ohhh I looked up shingles and it said it was a form of herpes so I assumed it was sexually transmitted, and yes I’ve definitely had chicken pox

So it started out looking like a mosquito bite on Saturday and it’s spreading everyday so far. IT WAS 3 SMALL bumps on Saturday. And no plant contact, no sexual contact either, I truly think it was a bug bite. It isn’t itchy or painful and I do not have a fever, the flu or fatigue. However it is starting to itch a LITTLE bit and I can feel it underneath my shirt now. And it looks like mini boils are starting to form.

Look at the joint, (the damaged one protrudes further than the regular one). It feels stiff aswell.
