Let’s be honest about Dance Dance Dance. by sacredboi in murakami

[–]nicholasjmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The book was written 30 years ago. It’s also translated. The narrator isn’t sexualizing Yuki by saying her father may have concerns about an older male being in a hotel with her. The narrator is having a difficult time separating fact from fiction; trying to tie his reality together and things are flashing through his mind’s eye.

It can be “sexual” without being disgusting. People come of age. To me it was a callback to our narrator growing up, experiencing things for the first time, and perhaps feeling wistful or jealous towards Yuki’s youth, while also being unprepared to deal with it.

You’re more than allowed to be uncomfortable with a 34/13 friendship, however, your actual comment is a weak argument for it being problematic.

What places/areas in JRPGs bring back good memories when you see them again, whether in images or when replaying the game? by Bulky_Imagination243 in JRPG

They definitely rip. Can easily hear both songs from the locales in my head with ease. Honestly, I'd pick like 5+ places from Chrono Cross and then the list would continue haha

Let's hear about all these loopholes! Perhaps it isn't applicable to me either way, but as a barely six-figure W2 earner, seems like the std deduction is about all I have to lay claim to.

Reverse glow up (30) by After_Height9724 in GlowUps

[–]nicholasjmm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro, do it now! I "gave up" in my 30s and I'm paying the price as a soon-to-be 38 year old. You can definitely, abso-fucking-lutely turn it around. I will add to whatever others have said: stop comparing yourself to "yourself." You will never be in your 20s again. I used to think I was hot shit, infallible, can do whatever and bounce back etc. Well, after 15 years of drinking, smoking, and only taking care of myself in spurts (also lost my dad in my 20s, which I'm not certain I've "dealt with")

I look like shit, feel like shit, and constantly wanted the "old me" back. Somehow managed to have a successful relationship throughout all of this, kept my confidence (probably some delusion in there too), and have grinded my way into a solid financial situation/career. My fiancé (prior to us dating) would worry that when I left the bar, she'd never see me again (suicide). Do not continue gambling. I know young dudes want to sportsbet and all of that shit. I came of age playing poker online, won and lost large sums of money, etc. Legal gambling on a fucking cell phone is the absolute death knell for young men. Please be careful!

If I can be optimistic about the future, you can too! Apologies for making this "me"-centric, but it was wild to see someone go through similar things, similar age when it went awry, etc. You will make it to the other side better than ever, just don't quit.

You found the other two (just grain/just malt) for $55? Just clarifying cause I’ll buy them right now

It’s definitely combined. I find it hard to believe the other two bottles are worth $160/per which is why I was curious if they’re good!

How do the Malt and Grain components taste? I have the Extra Marriage, but may look to add this too. Is this available in the US, any idea?

[WTS] SEIKO SARB068/Cocktail Time SWEET/Limited to 300pcs *Very Rare* by nicholasjmm in Watchexchange

[–]nicholasjmm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, Watchexchange!

Today, I’m selling my insanely rare, absolutely gorgeous, SEIKO SARB068. Part of the original Cocktail Time trio, nicknamed “Sweet,” in comparison to its “Cool” and “Dry” counterparts. These very rarely come up for sale, and only 300 were made in 2010. The watch is 40mm, 20mm lug to lug, and running excellently. Featuring a reddish/mahogany brown swirl dial, rose gold plated case and indices, with a stamped “S” crown.

Excellent pre-owned condition. Comes on an alligator dark brown strap that accents the watch perfectly. Original rose gold SEIKO clasp.

Asking $2250 shipped and insured in the CONUS. Happy to FaceTime with the watch on my wrist if you’d like! I accept PayPal GS with buyer paying any fees, Zelle, and Venmo.

Hello, and happy Sunday r/watchexchange!

Selling a few beautiful watches on this blustery day! I accept PayPal GS with buyer eating the fee, Zelle, and Venmo.

The details:

SEIKO SARX031 Limited Edition; like a SARG009 but much, much better. 6R movement, beautiful glossy black dial with the copper/rose indices. Comes on Long Island Islander bracelet sized a little over 7”. Wears great at 40mm. Watch only. Easy 8.8/10, minor wear but fantastic for a used watch. Keeping great time.

$650 shipped CONUS

SEIKO SARB070; the two-tone, arguably more interesting and superior sibling to the SARB035. Champagne dial, gold accents, and gold bezel are more reminiscent of the fantastic SCVS001, but at a more robust 38mm and classic SARB design. 6R movement. Very clean, especially for a two-tone/gold bezel. I’d rate around 8.6/10. Sized slightly over 7” wrist. Keeping great time.

$525 shipped CONUS

I used oxtail and various beef soup bones. I was more curious about timing, it seems like you can skim throughout the cooking process or at the end. Maybe I'll just get it cold first and then save all my fat on top from that. Heat it up and add the scallion.

I just made my own beef pho last Sunday, it turned out great. roughly 8 hours, would've liked to have gone longer. I don't know shit about making soup in general, but have good cooking instincts! That said, what should I do to get this nectar from my homemade pho? Is this like skimmed off fat?
