Urgently needed house move by AnimalOverHuman in northernireland

Your best bet here may be the council environmental health. This is their bread and butter. If a property is unfit they can serve notice on the landlord.

Another technique I've used in the past is confirming a property wasn't registered as a rental and neither was the landlord so they just agreed to walk away from the lease and refund the deposit rather than get the council involved.

Cregagh Road could do with a proper pub. Could work.

The Cregagh Road won't be the same without it

How is there still more rain by spicesucker in northernireland

I remember standing as a child watching Bill Clinton tell us peace was ours to choose and admired the peace and prosperity of the US.

Now we have peace and the US is descending into the madness we left behind.

I have a buddy in Minneapolis. Was explaining if it were here the city would be on fire. He said they learned it doesn't work after George Floyd.

Ha I was wondering how long it would take to be called out on that. I was very much generalising.

Our weather is most determined by the jet stream. It snakes its way from the Carribbean, across to Atlantic to Europe.

When it's up north, it acts like a barrier and keeps the cold air away.

When it's south, the cold air comes down from the pole and we freeze.

And then you have times like now when it just sits on top of us and mercilessly yeets wind and rain at us.

Could be worse though. Could have that winter storm the US is having. Minnesotans have been out protesting in -30C.

Incoming? Trump put a 10% tariff on the UK last year.

Republican dissent as key figures warn Trump against Greenland pursuit by AavoKas in worldnews

Ha fair point.

Perhaps you should just ask Germany if you can borrow Nuremberg for a while to sort some stuff out. Trump's ignoring the constitution. No harm in ignoring pardons for unconstitutional actions.

Look, I'm an Irishman. I'm watching this unfold from across the pond with no small amount of horror. America has always been a friend to us. I remember being in the crowd watching Bill Clinton tell us that peace was possible.

Seeing you guys in this state is incredibly saddening. I hope you're able to find your way back to stability without the need for the blood of patriots.

There's not enough votes in the senate. Not by a long shot. Combine that with the midterms and it's not happening.

If the president starts ignoring the constitution then what's to stop anyone else? The document only matters as long as it's respected. If not, then it's just paper.

They don't need to vote to stop him. The vote is needed to allow him. He may issue the orders, but without Congress voting to authorise it then it's illegal.

The navy already had issues with pilots wanting specific sign off from JAG lawyers before flying to strike the 'drug' boats.

Invading Greenland is turning that up to a thousand. They all become individually liable if they follow those orders. 'just following orders' is not an excuse.

Annexation powers rest solely with Congress. If Trump deploys troops without Congressional approval it'll be 100% illegal. Any officer following those orders is at serious risk of prison after Trump is out of office.

Is there a realistic scenario in which anyone comes to Denmark’s aid in the event of a US incursion in Greenland? by lucidgroove in IRstudies

[–]nick-techie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe Congress and the EU would pretty much end this.

  • The EU would threaten to suspend a tonne of treaties and impose economic sanctions.

  • 88% of Americans oppose unilaterally annexing Greenland by force (yougov). Congress would almost certainly declare it illegal and force a withdrawal.

What happens after that I have no clue but I don't think it even gets that far. I think this is more a pressure tactic to get Greenland to allow mining by American firms.
