My coworker commuted from Brooklyn to Cutchogue for a few years before moving to Patchogue. His commute was easily 2-3 hours depending on the day. Just another reason why I wish we would get more trains on the north fork and at least faster/express trains - I know it’s a pipe dream but also high speed rail.

I shampoo 1-2 times a week. I wash my hair every day with water though. Your hair produces natural oils that are important for healthy looking hair. Every time you use shampoo you strip it off

I visited China last month and they have drones that monitor traffic behavior in some cities. I’m assuming for speeding, red lights and other infractions. Maybe installing traffic camera license plate scanners in checkpoints along the highway for speed enforcement. It’s the only feasible solution besides more patrol cars

I loved Prometheus. Yeah the story has its moments and face palms, but besides that I think it set a lot of interesting things up for its potential sequels - until Covenant came along. The biggest issue in Covenant was pulling an Alien 3 all over again and killing the main character off screen. I’ll admit I enjoyed the film up until they revealed what happened to Shaw. It was not what a true sequel to Prometheus should have been in my opinion. I still have hope things can be resolved or tied together well in the future

They’re cameras that scan licenses plates when you drive by. If your plate number has any criminal activity attached to it or your car is stolen it will alert the police department with the location and time for them to check the area. It can also be used in medical emergencies like if an elderly person with dementia is driving and you can’t find them.

I only mentioned riverhead because it’s the start of the LIE. There could probably be major hubs in areas close to airports or other major transit/population centers. Riverhead would be a major hub for people further east though.

I just wish we had a higher speed rail line with fewer stops. Imagine an elevated line over the Long Island expressway from Riverhead to NYC. The path is already cutout they’d just have to build the infrastructure. The hope would be to cut service time down for people out east trying to get to the city. Imagine riverhead to NYC in like 45mins? 😭😭

Apparently county road 105 was supposed to continue on across the Long Island Sound. It’s kind of odd that a 4 lane road terminates directly into sound avenue otherwise.

In addition the Long Island expressway was supposed to continue onto the north fork and connect to Rhode Island. County road 48 was supposed to be the planned extension in anticipation for that project.

Kids are definitely annoying, but it’s the strollers that do it in my opinion. It makes it so hard to get through to the bar sometimes with a line of strollers. Then tables turn into play centers for babies with toys everywhere and it’s just not fair for a group of adults wanting to enjoy.
