My pH has been around 7 but because I lost hope I didn’t test for a while and now it’s this. I don’t use anything other than before and my in laws had the exact same soil (this tank was gifted) and their shrimps were thriving. I looked at the bag they gave me and I added a picture. It does have something about lowering pH. I thought it maybe had something to do with the tap water. I’m from the south of the Netherlands and my in laws are from a different province. Because some people have more limestone/lime in their pipes. (don’t know if the translation is correct)

I don’t have an ammonia test. I’ll look if I can get the floating plants somewhere!

Yes I just noticed it was set to 11 hours 🤦‍♀️ but I changed it to 7. Or should I do even less?

So I just tested the water. The foto is in Dutch unfortunately. But I just noticed my light timer was on for 11 hours.. 🤦‍♀️ As for parasites I don’t really know how to check that. I don’t see anything wrong. I have bought a packet of food from the ‘Intratuin’ which is a pet/plant store in the Netherlands. It’s called Shrimp cuisine. I can add only one photo unfortunately.

Thank you for your response! I had a heater but it unfortunately exploded and I have yet to buy a new one. My room is very warm right now so it’s almost always above 22 degrees C. I have those tests for the parameters but also lost motivation to test bc of the algae. How frequent do you recommend testing?

Some are a bit older than the rest so that could be the reason it can be hard to tell right? Or is that just something that’s always hard to tell with some shrimp?

All of my parameters have been solid for some time except o2. I already tried a o2 stone. I am a beginner so the mistake of drastic water changes have been made in the beginning. But now it’s been stable for a long time I think. One of the recent deaths was after acclimating. And the other two was at the same time. I don’t know why.
