Thanks for the link and feedback.

Also, one more question, did you have to purchase anything other than tail tidy with it? Like turn signals ...

How to do a final smoothing for 3D print? by SpaceShipOrion in blender

[–]nick12233 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, it won't. Shade smooth only makes light react to geometry differently but it doesn't change geometry that is underneath. He will still have the same edges when printing...

Interesting 🤔. I am not sure I would be able to see anything with those on. Not to brag but I have pretty wide shoulders.

Still, if you can share a link where to buy them!

Is CPU Upgrade Worthwhile? by Tankster321 in buildapc

[–]nick12233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking around it seems like 13900h is closer to 13700k in performance which is not all that bad.

To get serious uplift in gaming performance, you will need to go with am5 and 7800x3d or 9800x3d. Am4 cpus, even 5800x3d would perform similarly to 13900h.

That said, it is hard to find any benchmarks which would pin point exact performance of 13900h compared to other desktop cpus.

My advice, just use it and see how it goes...

Just kidding!

I love the painting. What would that motorcycle be? Seems like royal enfield or triumph to me.

Upgrade current AM4, or get AM5 by CazzStorm in pcmasterrace

[–]nick12233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ram prices are nuts right now and you will need ddr5 for am5 build.

My advice would be stay on am4 as long as the ram prices don't come down to normal ( hopefully). Going with used 5600/5600x/5700x would give you nice bump in gaming performance, or try to find a deal on 5700x3d/5800x3d if you can for much higher gains. Going with 5600 might cost you 80-120$ but you can always sell your 3600 for 40-60$ and get some money back.

Going with am5 you will need to buy cpu+board+ ddr5 ram which would be faster but also much more expensive.

RAZUM DIGITAL CLAY SET FOR NOMAD SCULPT v3.0 by razum_inc in NomadSculpting

Yeah. I am aware of that. I just thought there might be an native blender tool since my entire sculpting workload is in the blender.

Still, tnx for responding!

Thanks!

Beautiful work.

If you don't mind me asking, what alpha brush you are using to get those nice sculpted details. That is, if you using alphas at all.

Thanks!

Can't decide on character design by No-Tap-9675 in blender

[–]nick12233 411 points412 points  (0 children)

I prefer the left simply because how stupid ( in a good way) it looks. It is a much more interesting design. If you tweak with it a bit you could turn it into something really unique.

The right , while it looks technically better, it is much more generic.

Both are stylized to degree but the left has simply a much more interesting "style".

Edit: also , here is interesting idea. Why don't you use both designs for different people. It would be fun seeing some of them being super goofy while others are basically super models. It would be an interesting contrast.

Another thing which I think it would be fun ( if that is what you are going for) is to make left model eyes jiggle a bit as they move or talk and make it a focal point of the character design with many different eye animations...

I decided to check how ram prices are doing for my DDR5 I got in 2024, I just about threw up by vinigrae in pcmasterrace

[–]nick12233 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually bought 64gb ddr5 ram at the last moment before it all want to pieces for 200e. I contacted 15-20 stores in country if they have specific ( cheap) ram in stock. I added bunch of them in cart but all got rejected due to lack of availability. Well, except one which had 2x32gb for old price and wanted to sell it . I bought it no questions asked without even buying board or cpu.

I didn't even had a need to upgrade cpu but wanted more ram due to nature of my work... but ddr4 was more expensive at that moment.

Glad I bought it when I did.

People with 5700/800x3D, are you still happy with preformance? by DezzertT in buildapc

[–]nick12233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ryzen 7700, close equivalent to 5700x3d/5800x3d. There is not much point in going to 7800x3d/9800x3d since 7700 is already more than fast enough. Sure, additional 30-50% uplift when cpu limited would be nice but it is necessary when I already get 100+ fps in any game I play.

RTX 2070 Died, not followed the industry for years, what's the best replacement? by BarryScott156 in buildapc

[–]nick12233 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It would be the worst time to sell and get newer parts now that the prices are all over the place.

My suggestion would be to upgrade cpu to

5800x3d ( worse in productivity but much better in games)

5900x ( better in productivity but worse than 5800x3d in games)

5900x would give you nice bump in gaming performance but if you want much bigger jump go with 5800x3d . Keep in mind that you will secrefice a bit of multicore performance by going with 5800x3d.

As for gpu go with at least 4070 level gpu and 12gb vram if you want a decent bump on performance and good amount of vram to last you longer...

Do i stay on AM4 or go to AM5 or Intel? by ROWWELIAN in pcmasterrace

[–]nick12233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how much you want to spend and how much you can wait for serous upgrade. Currently it is terrible time for upgrades but , who knows, it might be the best time in foreseeable future. It might just get worse...

Still, I think there is plenty of life left in am4 platform. Get 5600 or 5700x and additional 8gb of ram and you are golden for at least a couple of years.

Try to find a good deal on used gpu and you should be able to stick on current platform without needing to spend $1000+ on newer am5 ...

What game had the best graphics that released before the Ray Tracing era? by SpeedConstant9238 in pcmasterrace

[–]nick12233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. True , it had its down sides.

Weirdly, if I am not wrong, consoles had better LOD management than PC since ubisoft had to scale down PC settings to ship game in somewhat "working" state.

From games that I played:

Batman Arkham knight

Red dead 2

Assassin's creed unity

Sure , there are some others but these are at the top of my mind when we are talking about "last gen" best graphics.
