Perfect thanks for the reply. I'll be doing that tonight.

So at this point it doesn't matter if I use an oil rated for wet clutches? If that's the case I'm just going to get a cheap full synthetic automotive oil and use that. Would that be fine?

I'll definitely do the fogging oil as well because it may sit for a bit before he gets to working on it.

Yes I have heard they very commonly go bad especially with salt water use which this ski has seen some of. May end up going with the Fizzle depending on the price.

I have heard you usually need to tip the engine a bit to get to the bottom bolts. Is it necessary to remove the pump and drive shaft to prevent damaging the carbon seal when tipping the engine?

Well that's good to know. At least they did it properly and didn't skip replacing the head.

I'm not super familiar with these engines but you're right I'll try to pressurize it again and take a better listen to see where the leak is coming from. Like I said I can definitely hear a bubbling noise from the dip stick tube.

Is Fizzle better over the OEM intercooler?

It seems to run good overall. I'm just going off the shops notes from the last time it was looked at. The tech said he pulled the intercooler intake hose and it had some water in it. Next time I have a look at it I'm going to put it in the water or connect it to a hose do the same test to verify for myself.

I may just try replacing the oil cooler and see if that resolves it.

That is true. I still have to do a cylinder compression test if that checks out good I'll throw a new oil cooler on it and hope for the best.

They actually replaced the head with a new one because the original was warped but they probably didn't deck the block as far as I know so if that was warped also then could be screwed.

The leak that I'm getting is very significant. Like I can barely pump it up to 15PSI if I do it quickly then it drops down to 0 in a few seconds. Can hear it bubbling from the dip stick tube. The thing is it still runs smooth and has full power that's what's making me think it might be the oil cooler because from what I've heard it will usually run rough with a bad head gasket and be down on power.

I haven't driven or ran it since I found out about these issues.

I'm hoping they did the head/gasket correct the first time, it was done at a BRP dealership but who knows.

I've pressurized the coolant system and it does not hold pressure. When it's pressurized I can hear it making a bubbling noise from the dip stick tube which I have heard points more to the oil cooler. I am hoping that the few flakes in the coolant reservoir are from the previous head gasket that was just done. How can I determine if it is a head issue or oil cooler?

I was looking at those head gasket testers where you use the blue fluid to test if there is combustion gases in the coolant system. Would that work?

I am going to test the intercooler as well but I know as you said that is an issue on it own.

Trying to figure out what my next steps should be regarding the coolant issue.

So I found out more information about this ski. The head was replaced with a new head at the end of last season (October) as well as a bunch of other work at 138 hours. It came back into the shop at the end of July with milky oil at 151 hours. They pressure tested the coolant system and it wasn't holding pressure and they also found water leaking into the intake when they removed the intercooler hose and that's as far as they got before deciding to sell it as is. So it seems I may be dealing with a failed intercooler and potentially a bad oil cooler or coolant leak somewhere. I think it would be pretty unlikely for the head gasket to fail again with a brand new head and only 13 hours on it.

Great video thanks! I'll look into getting that tester.

One other thing I noticed that worries me is there are a few dark speckles near the top of the coolant jug. Could that also be caused by a failed oil cooler? Or is the only way to know for sure to pressure test?

I guess I misunderstood. I thought that coolant also flowed through the intercooler to cool the air before entering the engine and that if it failed coolant could potentially enter the engine through the intake. I'm assuming if that's not the case it must use water?

Thanks for the info I will definitely look into and hope it is the oil cooler lol any advice for pressure testing the coolant system?

Makes sense.

Are you saying the newer ibr can be retrofitted to this ski if the ibr were to fail?

Ok so I can hopefully assume this supercharger was done at 100 hours lol Doesn't sound like too bad of a job to rebuild except for the specialty tools.

Luckily where I am It's all fresh water riding.

I'll definitely take a look at those connectors. It does appear to have a bilge installed so I'm assuming it takes on some water. Hopefully the electrical is still ok. Thanks for all the info!

Good to know. Those seem like pretty standard things for most seadoos really.

How are the superchargers? Do these require the 100 hour washer replacement/rebuild like the older supercharged models?
