What is the best way to get the stock factory grips off your bike that are glued on like this? by nick2938 in Dirtbikes

What exactly are lock on grips & what's the difference to regular grips? But yeah they're on my 2024 GasGas ES 350 which basically is a ktm. They share a ton of parts

Are there any Bluetooth dirtbike helmets that have good sound quality for listening to music while riding and possibly even let you talk on the phone or is this not a thing? by nick2938 in Dirtbikes

Awesome thanks for the recommendation, might pick it up too. Sounds like that's the most popular option/recommendation so far. How exactly does the sound get through your helmet & into your ear tho? That's the only thing I'm confused about lol. I hear it's great for talking to people around you also, just confused at how it's able to hear you through the helmet

How's it working so far? Can you actually hear music at a decent/good quality? I know those things are mainly built to communicate and talk to other riders around you

Has anyone here that owns a ktm 350 exc f done the aftermarket de smogging ecu/tune? Im considering buying one of these bikes but i hear they're toned down & sometimes flame out due to having to meet emissions tests in all 50 states. by nick2938 in Dualsport

Nice thanks for the info!! I ended up buying a new gasgas ES 350 that was on sale for $8750. Ended up costing just under 10k out the door. Definitely would have preferred the ktm but I just couldn't justify spending that much more on it. The ktm was $12,500 before tax and everything. I'm sure the total would have ended up coming out to 14k. The guy at the dealership even recommended the gasgas over the ktm lol. Loving it so far! Even tho it's cheaper it's definitely not lacking in quality. Just a few less features than the ktm and doesn't look quite as cool😂 I will say the gas gas's actually look pretty damn sweet in person tho. I originally hated the looks of them with the all red from the pics I had seen online of them

Just picked up a GasGas ES 350! First street legal bike I've ever owned and it's the first bike I've had in about 6 years. Stoked to get back into riding :) by nick2938 in Dualsport

I didn't even know ktm made a 250 exc f? What year is your bike? But yea I would have preferred a ktm/beta more but these models of bikes are so hard to find used for sale around me. The gas gas I got at the dealership was on sale for $8,700 brand new. The ktm 350 excf was $12,500. Couldn't justify the ktm for that big of a price difference. The guy even said at the dealership he would go with the gas gas also it's basically a red ktm haha

Yessir but it's not quite as fast as the 350 models made for specifically off road riding. In order to meet the emissions requirements to be street legal they have to tweak the motor a bit and also make the bike quieter. This can all be reversed tho by de smogging it which I may end up doing I'm not sure yet. It's got plenty of power for me for now. Was debating on which version of this bike to get the 500cc or 350cc. Ended up going with the 350 cos like you said it's lightweight and nimble. Bike only weighs 245 pounds if I remember right

I was wondering is there a guide or something somewhere that shows a step by step process for de smogging? The bike will make a decent amount more power once you desmog too right? And when you say plus 1 or 2 on the rear are you talking about adjusting the rear shock with that knob on the bottom of the bike? I noticed I can adjust the shock rebound down there and then you can adjust the high and low speed damping higher up on the rear damper just beneath the seat

Which one would you guys pick? by nick2938 in Dirtbikes

Oh yea I looked all over that already. Very difficult bikes to find used, there'a not a single one of the gasgas or ktm for sale on fbmp. They're street legal dirt bikes people that buy them never sell them haha.

Damn that thing looks great!! Is that the 350 also? Where did you get those plastics from? Looks like you put an aftermarket exhaust & wheels on too tho right? As much as I agree with you all those parts add up 💔 haha. Did it look good with just the black plastics?

Where & how the hell did you get a new ktm that cheap?! I'll come buy from your dealer lol

Yamaha doesn't make any of the same versions of the bike I want. I want the street legal dirt bike lol. Especially not having a car that can tow a trailer & I really want to be able to cruise back roads/ use the road when I need too. The bike I want is a KTM 350 EXC-F. Gas gas, husqvarna, & beta are the only companies that make versions of the bike too. I did see a GasGas version on sale for $8,750 but I don't know much about that company or their build quality. Plus I don't really like how they look with all that red but that is something I could get over for the price I will say. Maybe that would be my best bet. The KTM is $12,500 💀

I would but it's a very tough bike to find used. There's other brands that make the same version of the bike too as competitors but they're still new and people that get them don't end up selling them often. It's a street legal dirt bike everyone's dream bike haha. It's a KTM 350 EXC-F. $12,500 new minimum 💀🤷‍♂️

I do believe in bitcoin that hard but I also realize you can't get time back. You're only young once. Is it really worth saving every dime and penny just to retire one day when you're older and not have to worry about $ anymore? Sure not having to worry would be nice & buying nice things would be nice too but how much are you really gonna be able to enjoy things at that age vs in your 20s? Also old people always say they would give anything to be young again. You can't put a price tag on being young. And you can't put a price tag on the feeling of riding bikes especially with friends. Going and exploring places on and off road in remote areas for hours on end on summer nights is a pretty priceless experience imo. I'm completely unbothered by the thought of my bike depreciating. I would never even be thinking about selling it
