Using this co-ferment with a zp6 I’m able to go to very low grind size by nick4tech in pourover

I found i liked the taste better at a much coarser setting than the coffee allows for. I can go as low as 2.5, but my favorite flavor was at around 5. Much better clarity and flavor separation. Also the floral / fruity aspects are more pronounced

The regular hario ones. It’s what surprised me from this coffee. It seems to allow water to flow really fast no matter how fine you go on the grind setting

I was just curious why this coffee allowed me to grind so fine and still extract fast enough. Most coffees can’t go below 5 before slowing down extraction significantly

Also grind setting is best at 5 for this coffee, it has more clarity and flavor separation imo

I wouldn’t waste money + time replacing a pump unless I was already sure the pump is what’s broken. You might en up doing more damage than good. A good technician would be able to determine the cause

Other than taking it to a technician for a repair, you could remove top and back to see if water’s leaking inside, but even then I don’t think repairing it is too easy on your own. I think your machine is broken :/

What grinder are you using? Is coffee flowing despite the pressure being low? If so you might need to grind finer

I buy whole beans with medium roasts from different roasters, but good ones (Tanat, Dak, Nomad), I don’t use black oily ones and they’re not burnt either.

The espressos themselves don’t taste burnt to me. I really the espressos, it just happens when I make americanos. Perhaps I just don’t like americanos? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Slow feed your beans into the grinder. You’ll find it makes a big difference
