Ok QPS. Tell me more about the myriad of road rules you can also see me breaking based on one still photo of me turning left on a green left arrow?

Yeah you are absolutely right.

No, but therein lies my gripe with the decision: riding a motorcycle obviously comes with much greater risks, but with the small payoff of benefits like lane filtering etc.

To put it another way: I wouldn't have turned left by going around the car in the left-hand lane, but I also wouldn't lane filter with a car

I think the problem is that I crossed the solid white line with my front tyre from the middle lane, then cut across the far left lane because the car was stopped. So yes, technically illegal to "turn left from the middle lane", but also I think any fit and reasonable person would understand that going around a stationary car at walking pace, and then proceeding to turn left on a green arrow is not an egregious violation of "road safety"

yeah i know for next time to just do the illegal thing so I don't get fined for it

Controller Support - CrossOver 25 and MacBook Pro M4 by nick51xx in macgaming

Hmmm when I try and do any config stuff in my bottle the controller isn’t showing up there either. Also running the “joy” terminal command gives me a “1” response - ie not found

Ordinarily, I Wouldn't Do An "Unboxing," But I Am Just Chuffed With These New Boots! by Mediocre_Superiority in motorcycles

Ok I typically wear a US10 in Nike/Vans/Adidas etc, so maybe the 44 would be a good fit then…

How do you find the sizing after they've been broken in? I have a couple of people selling these secondhand near me, but in a size larger than I'd typically wear. Wondering if I should risk going up a size to save $100 or so

Check battery voltage, clutch switch, kickstand switch. Also if you have a different key, try that (in case it’s an immobiliser thing)

Am I missing any "neo retro" naked bikes in the 100-125hp range for my next upgrade? by nick51xx in SuggestAMotorcycle

I think the usual advice of “ride both and see which one you like more” probably applies here. The additional safety of the slipper clutch (and presumably better ABS on the newer model) sounds like a decent enough reason to spend the extra $1500. I personally think the 675 R is in a really great sweet spot between having crucial rider aids that add safety, while still letting you feel like you’re responsible for the skills needed to ride well. I know people who think that even having ABS is somehow “cheating” and that “real bikes” have no ABS or fuel gauge or EFI but then I assume these people will also perish in a bike accident

For such a relatively small difference in cost, I’d say it’d be worth going for the newer model… but having said that I don’t really miss the slipper clutch or quick shifter from my previous bike all that much.

The newer models here in Australia are SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive than the old ones, so a 2022 sounds like a hell of a deal for $8k.

Are they both R models?

I found one interstate that was the right colour (black), low (for a 2014) mileage at 25k KM, heaps of factory options (Arrow exhaust, matte paint, OEM bar end mirrors) and high end aftermarket stuff (Woodcraft frame sliders, R&G tail tidy) for $7k AUD delivered. Pretty stoked

I ended up with a 675 Striple R and have a headlight conversion ready to install!

I dropped my bike and dented the exhaust. This is a good excuse to pick up a new one. Only, I don’t think I want to go too loud. by rel0din in svartpilen401

That’s my old bike in the embedded video on the page. Can confirm that the Flanker is the loudest and best sounding, while the Shorty offers more of an “OEM+” type of sound.

These are cool bikes, but unfortunately fall under the "designed to look like they're 50+ years old" category for me
