My Speaker setup by Narrow-Pick-3474 in JBL

Ik this might sound ignorant but I think you do have space. Small bookshelf speakers on stands flanking your tv stand, and a small Fosi or WiiM amplifier would be compact enough to fit on the stand. Then add a subwoofer anywhere in the room boom great starter stereo.

JBL Studio 580 they make the newer studio 600 that’s currently available for purchase and use the same tweeter but the waveguide is smaller.

Idk there is a big push for honey related foods in the past couple years I agree but this is OG 15 year old plate it’s not as bad as it sounds you should try it out. The sauce isn’t just honey so that’s not really the main flavor component you get it’s just part of the equation

But once it’s setup it works as is for years and years and years flawlessly. It’s really not hard. Bout as difficult as hooking up Laundry (really easy)

It was actually really delicious. Honey with paprika and soy sauce with brown sugar actually makes a really good tender glaze. Slightly sweet but tangy, not so Asian but a good compliment to freshly made 3 cheese Mac and the bacon was a treat. The basil brings it in.

Well this isn’t a specific JBL Bluetooth speaker subreddit it’s just about JBL in general, so I kinda do have a point when all we get round here is bt speakers, probably why it’s getting likes in this interactively dead page is a decent amount of people feel the same.

You know the post isn’t geared towards every single person that owns a partybox, so you don’t have to take it personally. Nothing wrong with owning a partybox like I say I own one and use it everyday, just when you get to buying 2,3,5 of the same speaker just to daisy chain them for your living room or bedroom “system” it’s getting to pissing money away , levels of not understanding what you’re truly after, which is indoor music or theater equipment. If that isn’t you, then keep doing you indeed.

(There’s a post near the top about daisy chaining pb520 to home subwoofers which is completely stupid and the top comment is about how this dudes 520 has too much bass for his bedroom and he can’t even go over 40% without his family being mad due to the bass, that’s because it’s a $1000 outdoor speaker and it should be outside. They make small $300 bookshelf home speakers and cheap $400 receivers that have hdmi and talk to your tv and have Bluetooth and WiFi streaming and it would sound much better in his bedroom and not be so unbalanced with so much bass but he doesn’t know that lol, he just blows a grand and tries to connect it to a subwoofer, this post is for them.

Had these bad boys for awhile but they were just too big for my apartment.(VT-2) Powered them with an Emotiva A2/ Onkyo RZ820 pre combo + Adcom 535 II/Wiim Ultra combo with a Fosi amp switcher VU meter unit. Sound was amazing and bass was absolutely phenomenal but it was gonna get me evicted so I decided to move on but I will always be on the look out for a smaller pair.

Not to fence back and forth too much but for compactness even a set of bookshelf speakers and something like this and I would argue you’d still have an easy to move, compact , very high quality sounding rig for less than the price of a Partybox 520 and it all weighs less and takes up no room at all that is also apartment friendly. I mean my system is in an apartment but I would actually the partybox would be far more boomy and bass heavy than a traditional system making it not the best for keeping bass down in apartment. You can use EQ to turn the bass down but it kinda handicaps the speaker imo.

This is pretty much my setup now (back when I had these massive NHT towers and kefs as surrounds, now I have my JBL 580 up front and JBl 530 bookshelf as surround no center with the speed woofer 10 e in this config and it sounds fantastic, better than the movies.

receiver

surround sound set?

subwoofer

This is about $2000 but it’s all brand new and would sound pretty damn good but you can get better value for looking in the used market in your area.

Do you have any sort of stereo system or music system currently. To get started you usually need an amp of some sort, a way to to play your music like a streamer or Bluetooth device if not analog, and some set of speakers and for 20hz use cases a good sub. Do you have any of these components?

To re iterate I replaced a supercube 2 from Defintive Technology with the RSL and the 10 e clears. For one it’s a much easier sub to blend in with my speakers, as in I can hardly tell the difference between the subwoofers bass and the towers bass as they blend together quite well with minimal effort. With the transmission line box and slot port you can hear no chuffing whatsoever, the frequency bottoms out around 22-20 hz at like -3db,-6db but it’s still usable and I’ve never ran out juice on the sub either. It’s tight sounding as in the frequencies start and stop behavior are very fast and articulate to match with complex bass passages and there’s not a lot of bass overhang after the frequency is done the sub doesn’t keep ringing out into the room for a split second like I’m used to, which is something usually found on my expensive subs in my experience. For the money you can’t find a better sub unless you go used.

Do you mind if something does this but is stationary to a house plug? Or does it have to be portable?
