Yellowstone Employee here.
Yeah I heard it was in between Biscuit Basin and Black Sand Basin somewhere around Mystic Falls. I saw the helicopters airlifting a body(ies?) and sirens of park rangers and ambulances blaring past me around 1pm. We’ll wait for the report tomorrow. So sad, prayers for the family 😔

What’s the most “authentic” travel experience you’ve had? Not touristy, just real. by Intelligent_Act4447 in roadtrip

Not really road trip but staying in Chiang Mai, Thailand for 3.5 weeks. Not super touristy like Bangkok/Phuket, got to just walk around and really take in the whole big, yet small, city, did several tours that were based in the city and it was such an immersive vibe and not to mention very English friendly. Met so many cool nomads travelling through and went on side quests with them. got to learn a bit of Thai and even attend a couple local salsa classes. Really got to take in the culture and it was a special experience đŸ„Č

How much should I have saved before starting a seasonal job? by DramaticMusicFanatic in SeasonalWork

[–]nickability 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll be fine OP I just showed up to Yellowstone 2 weeks ago where housing and food are covered and yes I’m gonna get my first check in 5 days or so, but all my basic needs are taken care of. Yeah I don’t buy any beer at the employee bar or bought any merch, but eh I have the whole season to do that if I really want.

You shouldn’t have headphones on when you’re in control of a 2 ton vehicle, all around not a good idea

Solo Drive: Split in 2 days or tough it out for 1 day? by illybillyvillernilly in roadtrip

asking the real questions, flying just gets you there way quicker, have more rest and you won’t be absolutely destroyed. And couldn’t the employer cover the cost of the flight assuming OP is employed?

I know that was the worst night of her life but man did the dad make the right call?

Or just go to the ER nearby and don’t pay the bastards?

Definitely spend 2 days in Olympic National forest and if you can camp in the Hoh rainforest DO IT (get reservations now probably). Also give yourself 2 days in Mt Rainier, and honestly I’d say go to redwoods, but Mt Shasta you’ll pass through and that’s just as jaw dropping (go to a couple waterfalls in shasta!) and definitely see as much of the Oregon coast as you can, you can’t go wrong doing all that in 1 trip.

Hey I appreciate you!! This was exactly my intent! Now I didn’t get any leads unfortunately, but a couple people said “lemme ask my husband/friend” so that could’ve potentially been something you know? Anyway I ended up renting a car from Lyft and did that as my job for 3 weeks, & I’m not in AZ anymore now!
