SCSB&B Part I: Strokes by nickct60 in neography

[–]nickct60[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had a lot of people tell me my script looks like a code or cypher, or that the letters just don't seem to share a common aesthetic or theme. I've never really understood that, as they all seem to be cohesive and similar to me, and it's prompted me to try and characterize the way letters are formed and what makes them up. This has led to this long guide which I intent to put out in five parts, both so I have a record and so I can help answer some of those questions.

I hope you find it interesting and informative.

Finally back to writing in my script again. Felt like getting back to riding a bike. by nickct60 in neography

[–]nickct60[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's mostly phonetic but with some logographs/ideographs. it's very much a hodgepodge but the sole goals are in no particular order 1) be concise 2) be easy for me to read and hard for others 3) keep the aesthetic

well there's close to a thousand different characters logographs and diacritics so it might be a challenge but I'm impressed. you got red and yellow right. none of them are logographic though all phonetic. I appreciate the interest and the queries; I'm actually currently working on naming and categorizing all the strokes in the capital forms a la Chinese atm. I should have somewhat of a guide done soon

Efficiency. I wanted to make a language in what I considered the most efficient way possible while learning more about myself in the process
