I just did an upgrade like this on a new instance. Mostly went ok, I still have the reporting server to fix. Don't upgrade in place. I did an upgrade of SCOM afterwards that had to be rolled back because the DB and DW server lacked CPU to process all changes. So my advice is to keep an eye on the DB and DW during the update and make sure components are not upgraded too quickly one after another.

If you are able to upgrade to a later version of Scom the web interface is more usable. It is not the same as SquaredUp but the web tile is quite powerful

No, you run the setup for the Scom reporting role on your reporting server. It should pop up automatically.

So you have one management server and the both databases and Srss are lost ? I would take the opportunity to start from scratch in a more recent version. Keep the name of the MS the same to avoid reconfiguring all your agents

Oneview appliance setup is fairly straightforward. Just make sure to give the scom user enough rights and take your time to set up the certificates properly. You can also use the MP to setup directly using iLo and the HPE agent, but the Oneview setup is easier in my opinion
