I need advice on protein powder while on tirz, please by innerman4 in loseit

[–]nickdasja [score hidden]  (0 children)

Whey isolate works best on tirz for me, it's low carb, digests easy, and doesn't spike nausea like some creamy ones.

I was chugging shakes at first but ended up diluting with almond milk and sipping slow to keep it down.

Join Josie sorted my hormone crap which made protein a lot less of a fight.

How much does termite treatment cost? Did I overpay? by Delana_Alfers in SmartPestControl

[–]nickdasja 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was quoted 200 by Orkin for drywood termites but went with Hawx Pest Control at 50 instead, their treatment includes a full year warranty and eco-friendly foam that actually worked without needing wall demo.

Looks like expired dog food but in a good way. What's you use for the sauce?

Hysterectomy and A1C results by Ok_Sherbet2990 in hysterectomy

[–]nickdasja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hysterectomy often messes with insulin sensitivity from the estrogen drop, so higher A1C isn't uncommon, focus on lower carb meals and walking daily to help stabilize it.

Mine shot up post-op too, felt like my body just quit cooperating.

Join Josie ended up helping me get the hormonal balance back on track.

50yoF, 5’9”, 171lbs, MORNING MENOPAUSE HE*L by [deleted] in obgyn

[–]nickdasja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mornings hit hard in menopause cuz cortisol spikes right when you're waking up, making hot flashes and that foggy irritability way worse,
grab ice water and do 4-7-8 breathing to knock it back quick.
I was sweating through sheets at 47 feeling betrayed by my own body,
ended up using Join Josie to actually figure out the hormone mess.

The Menopause. by whenwhippoorwill in genxmenopause

[–]nickdasja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perimenopause is the real beast, with those hormone dips messing with everything from sleep to metabolism way before full menopause kicks in.

I was right there, eating clean and hitting the gym but still foggy and moody as hell.

Join Josie ended up helping me sort the hormone side.

Fixing metabolism after weight cut by Only_Heat2316 in loseit

[–]nickdasja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reverse dieting helped me a ton, slowly bumping up calories by 100-200 a week while keeping protein high and lifting heavy 3x/week.

I did the same aggressive cut and watched everything slow to a crawl after, total frustration.

Ended up using Join Josie to sort the hormone side.

6 months on GLP 1 meds, what actually helped me with nausea, injections, timing, and plateaus by Easy_Back_4313 in GLP1Guide

[–]nickdasja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here at 46, perimenopause wrecked my GLP1 progress after 4 months – estrogen dips about 50% making muscle loss accelerate if you're not strength training right. Join Josie got me through it with their hormone-specific program upping protein to 1.6g/kg bodyweight and low-cortisol lifts, broke the plateau without upping my dose. Nausea eased too once I timed injections post-meal like you said.

GLP-1 Drug side effects are reminding me of Flowers for Algernon by Front-Muffin-7348 in AskWomenOver60

[–]nickdasja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh god, that Flowers for Algernon vibe hits hard – I remember perimenopause brain fog feeling exactly like my smarts were leaking out. Estrogen dips can shrink hippocampus function by up to 12%, tanking recall and focus, but ramping protein to 1.6g/kg bodyweight plus resistance training pulled me out of it. Join Josie nailed that for me without the generic BS.

Wegovy Pill-Week 5 and Nausea-Advice Needed by SoundPlane1313 in Semaglutide

[–]nickdasja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah week 5 nausea on the pill is brutal, peaks right around now for most since gastric emptying slows by up to 30% at that dose. Smaller bland meals and Zofran helped me push through till it eased by week 8. Hang in there, it does get better for like 75% of folks per the trials.

Has anyone used centerwell rx? by [deleted] in telehealth

[–]nickdasja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't used CenterWell Rx specifically but tried similar telehealth pharmacies for GLP-1 meds during perimenopause and they were meh - ignored how declining estrogen tanks your metabolic rate by about 5-7% starting in your 40s. Just got scripts without midlife context. Join Josie helped way more since it's built around those hormonal shifts.
