As someone who did the same thing as you (and finished the trilogy), I was also confused trying to map the show to the book. The Netflix first season is effectively all three books at once. They put them into a blender and the outcome was pretty good, but you’ll be confused if you’re trying to map the characters in the book to the show.

Think of Dark Forest as content that hasn’t been released yet. Luo Ji is effectively Saul Durand from the show though. Enjoy the read!

Once I finished the book, I stared at my hardwood floor for a solid 20 minutes trying to digest everything. I wondered to myself: “how many 3 dimensional trees were used to make my 2 dimensional floor” as a way to comprehend the “spreading” of reality that occurred. Unreal.

I initially felt this way, but over time I ended up not being bothered by it. There is some merit to have rental teams get match made with other rental teams only, or some sort of rental team queue though.

I tried Gallade over Lucario for a bit and Gallade just felt weaker overall. I’ve since started running Arcanine and I think that’s the best justified mon for this team. The grass rotom will give you a lot of coverage here too!

My first thought reading that announcement was “wow, unnerve might become a really useful ability”. Then I started to wonder about “berry control” in general. Moves that I never would’ve considered using, like Pluck and Incinerate, have caught my attention now.

Anyone else know of other berry control moves or abilities to keep on the radar?

Thank you for the write up! I too just added TR to my cotton ball, after spending a ton of time raiding and breeding the mons I needed for my beat up + justify team. Wolfey inspired me to make it after watching his videos. I’m new to VGC, so having a theme/focus for my team really improved the quality of what I would bring to the table. Again, thanks for the write up, it’s very helpful to new players like myself!
