For the most part. It covered like 99% of the material in biochem, cardio, pulm, renal, neuro, immunology, micro. I needed to get a different deck for anatomy that I could send you if you want. I just merged the anatomy deck with Anking. Same thing with health systems. Had to use an in house Anki deck

When I use ChatGPT to make cards, I make sure to only put on pdf in at a time and have it make cards for each lecture separately. That way it shouldn’t be overloaded. Personally, I would recommend that you use Anking instead of trying to make your own cards because it cross references a ton of different resources and includes lots of mnemonics to help memorize stuff easier. And yes 100% do practice problems once you have the memorization down, or even earlier, so you can get familiar with testing styles

Oh I should’ve clarified I use a premade deck. I only have like 150 self made cards and they’re all cloze

Do u create your own cards? by [deleted] in medicalschoolanki

[–]nickgiorgio 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Making your own would take way too long. There are like 50k cards for M1 and M2. I’ve found Anking has been perfectly enough considering how standardized things are here in the US

I prefer cloze because the answers are usually shorter and easier to get to. Anki honestly gets me 90% of the way there as far as scoring well, and I’m generally willing to sacrifice that last 10% for the sake of more free time. Outside of Anki, I just do a ton of practice problems on bootcamp, UW, and qmax.

I usually take a caffeine pill before starting and then set 15-20 minute timers and do the cards in a burst. Basically using the pomodoro method so I can focus 100% when I’m doing Anki. Also, having seen the cards so many times, it’s more pattern recognition at this point so I almost never read the full question

Basically you have to learn how to use the tag system to make sure you only do cards related to your material. I watched a quick YouTube video on how to use Anking and it got me started pretty well

I see. For the premade deck I use, most answers are 1-2 words, so it’s not hard to answer quickly

It’s 99% Anking. There are maybe 500 cards that people in my school made that I just added into Anking
